This is the post I do once a month to remind everyone that it is nice to get some support to keep this baby going. As long as I can. I could be doing other things with my time you know.
Let me go off on a little tiny rant as I don’t like to mail it in, you know me.
Not shocking, but I did not make a single change to the Support TBB page. And there has been no click in the past month I think. And Amazon has dried up, $28.11 in May. So, in a somewhat hypocritical way, this blog makes some money from loyal readers choosing to support it by getting travel rewards credit cards with my links. I am pretty sure you guys know what you are doing and can handle it. I wish I could say the same for the thousands of readers of the big commercial blogs.
Breaking: The Points Guy claims the Number ONE spot in Most Credit Card Affiliate Links in a post: 46 It was in a post on June 13th. Phucking A!!!
To Newbies: This miles and points blog industry is full of posers pretending to be experts in this craft (because that is what it is) who are EXPERT Online Marketers of selling bank credit cards! If these juicy sales commissions disappeared one day you will see most of the blogs in this space go poof. Gone! I would probably still be here…
In addition, I make this post when I don’t have much material to curate for you as it appears to be just dead out there. Maybe it is the summer vacations starting out? The oppressive heat? Or the continued devaluations demoralizing our favorite bloggers who, amazingly always sound so cheerfully upbeat about travel rewards they sell to their readers. Every day. Yawn.
Please alert me to TBB worthy articles and any news covering this space. Thank you.
To remind everyone: This blog makes no money from page views. No obnoxious ads to bother your beautiful eyes. I have no blog Facebook page. I refuse to get on Instagram. Last time I updated the blog Youtube page was months ago. They tell me to look into SEO, which I always thought it was an airport code 🙂 I keep reading crap that says you should spend 20% of time creating content and 80% promoting. WTF, I am more like 98% content and 2% promoting. I think the 2% is on the high side. I always have other stuff to work on. And then of course these Trip Reports that take so much time. Next step is for me to upload the Iran pics into WordPress. One. Day. I move slow here.
I thought about adding a membership feature. But I don’t think it is fair to do when the blog content is free. And it appears too technical to do. Maybe if I added some features to members. But what? I don’t have the time to create extra stuff. This is NOT my main job you guys…even though sometimes it feels like it. And a bad paying one that is lol.
To all the readers who have taken the time to support my blog and other small blogs, THANK YOU! Blogging is MUCH harder than you ever thought it is! Only people who are or were bloggers can understand. I put a lot of work here because, deep down, I enjoy helping people and giving back. My blog allows me more reach than I could do on my own. As long as we are entertained, we learn something and sometimes we get inspired…I think we make the world better. And that’s just cool!
We are going to get back into regular TBBing on Thursday as usual. Please excuse this post. Once a month. In all other posts I focus on the actual content instead of blogging about what will make me convert you to give me your money as most blogs do.
I want my blog to stand out as a quality entertaining, educational and inspiring read. No click bait bullshit. Telling it like it is, your BS filter. Why read so many crappy blogs when you can come here once a day and catch up on all the important happenings. And hopefully I get you to laugh. At myself…which is okay too!
At the end of the day (I never liked this expression), I think I like….blogging. I do my thing. My own way. The chips will fall where they may. As long as we are all enjoying the ride!
Oh, I get more marketing emails lately. And I almost delete them all. Maybe my blog is getting noticed? As I was noticed in a Wal Mart and Blaze Pizza recently lol.
And I leave you with this…
