Been in tax beast mode lately you guys. And not enough material for a regular Buzz post and no trip reports in the queue….Yeah, one day I will get to my Asia and Iran trip reports…I move slow, you know this already! So, since I feel dirty already doing this, let me answer the two questions I have been asked several times:
What is the best thing you like about blogging?
Well, glad you asked. I guess it is having a platform to just post whatever my heart desires, having a voice, a platform. This is my baby and I am proud of it. I could be doing other things (more profitable for sure!) with my time but I see this blog as my way to reach more people and give back by adding some value to your life which in turn will make the world a better place. All through entertainment, education and inspiration. And raising hell too because, you know, I like to speak my mind. Or, as one reader said recently, I am like the BS filter….and I really just loved that! Plus I get to meet people, I learn a lot, I like interacting with you, I think of you as my friends (even Ingy, just kidding) and this blog is a nice counter balance to my regular professional life which I think is important to have. You need some variety so you don’t get burned out! Ok, I think I said everything I had to say for this lol.
What is the worst thing about blogging?
Well, one thing clearly stands out. You bust your butt to produce a quality product here, you lay it all out. You feel like when you hit the “Publish” button…you just feel proud of your work and the impact it will have on others. But doing it for so long and then when you check in what the blog converted…and you see a big fat zero it feels like, well, so deflating…For the first two years, I didn’t care because I sincerely thought I would not still be doing this! This started as a joke and gave myself three months. And here we are more than four years later #wow. It is a blog about my hobby that is going to hell but it is not a hobby blog. Blogs that are written daily with good content are not hobby blogs! At the same time, I hardly do any promotion of it to increase my readership. Why? Because I don’t have the time as I am always going through blog posts in Feedly, through so much BS to find the gems to bring you here. And of course my eclectic, sometimes incendiary on purpose commentary. Anyways, this blog is not making me rich. But some fun money to take Mrs. TBB out to a few nice dinners is always welcome! Plus, it is energizing and NOT deflating when I see somebody actually REALLY cares and is willing to take action to show it! When this does not happen…small bloggers quit! They can keep it up but, after a while, they realize time can be better spent elsewhere! I am still here because, I guess, read the first paragraph and make no mistake, I do enjoy it.
Amazon clicks have gone way down ever since JetBlue made a deal with Amazon to earn miles shopping there. There is some revenue from the indirect credit card links provided by CreditCards.com so if you can get the best offer and know what you are doing (hope you are if you are reading this blog) I sure appreciate the support when you get them here. This month is really way down compared to the best month ever last month thanks to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. If I lose these, I am likely done as Amazon is not even enough for a small coffee at Starbucks these days (yes I am no longer a Panera fan!). The rest below get almost no clicks. But I swear that Roboform and ExpressVPN are phucking amazing products! I could have more listed but I only deal with stuff I can recommend to people I care about.
If you see any mistake below, let me know.!
Ok, the obligatory funny pic to leave you with…
I appreciate all the support to keep TBB going! I focus on the content here and hardly ever spend time on promoting my site. I rely on you to forward my URL to your family and friends, subscribe and participate in the comments. Thank you!
I get bombarded by crap to promote to readers all the time. I delete them. I only offer links to stuff I use and like myself! I don’t know how other bloggers do it…I mean, promote crap just so they can make some money, boo!
And now for the official Disclosure: Some links on this site, like the Amazon links, may be affiliate links. If you click on one of these links and buy from the affiliated company, then I receive some small compensation. The modest income helps to keep this blog going. Affiliate links do not increase your cost, and I only use them for products or services that I’m familiar with and that I feel may deliver value to you.
The stuff below is TBB approved!

Best VPN! Worked flawlessly in Iran. Based on reader feedback and discussions with mega travelers, this baby just works everywhere, including China. And it is easy to use too, if I can do it you sure can too. Check it out!
BEST password manager! I LOVE this program and have been using it for years. Without it I would really not be able to function online! It also acts as a form filler and password generator. Best money I ever spent online! You can check it out for free before you decide to buy HERE.
The most reliable online shopping portal imho! Not the highest rates but I NEVER had an issue with them and they pay fast!

I have had two accounts here for many years. No fees! It does not pay the highest interest rates but it is still high. The best online bank website in my opinion. If you are into credit card churning please be aware that the company pulls your credit report from all three agencies if you apply for a checking account (NOT the savings account!). You can learn more about this in the Capital One 360 website. If you open an account you can earn $25 and they pay me $20. Start HERE.
We both earn $10 I think. TopCashBack has the highest cash back rates consistently. Start HERE.
Please email me for a referral. Limited US cities. Rents only Audis! In general, very good experiences. Credit off your first ride varies, usually $25.
I appreciate the support, thank you!
