You make a very good argument. I think you convinced me. Although millennials are less likely than other generations to want credit cards. I have been trying to convince one of my sons to get his first and he is still mad at me for making him an authorized user on one of mine! But no question if the goal is selling, and it is (you should stop it too), then it will become so mainstream that all value will erode.

I have the club carslon card too. Thanks for reminding me, need to charge something to generate the annual bonus…Getting really tired of the card and the brand.

I disagree about thinning the herd. I think it is going the other way. The titan TPG and MMS businesses and so many other blogs trying to become like them…only have a shot by EXPANDING THE MARKET to more newbies. I think we are in the beggining stages of this hobby becoming mainstream actually. I fear for the future and actively looking for a new hobby.
I just need to lay off TBBing for a while so I can burn some miles before they devalue more lol.

Am I the only one who still has the Club Carlson card? Wish they would get their act together and go with no foreign transaction fees like the rest of the planet. Even Starwood finally caved on that. Staying in another wonderful Radisson Blu business class upgraded room. I am in Europe a lot, so for me the value is really there. But boy do I miss the 2 for 1 nights. In a decade no one will believe the gigs we had.

My thinking is the more devaluations and difficulties, the more it thins the herd. I will be doing this until the bitter end. I have a travel addiction. I have no choice.

A perfect night at the MGM Detroit hanging out with Wolfgang Puck and another 98 Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders in a Private event was ruined by another frustrating Detroit Lions loss. 9 straight playoff losses now…Fuck the Superbowl, just want to see a darn playoff win in my life, is that too much to ask for?

Anyways, the event was amazing! I have lots of pictures and this deserves a post when I get to it. Event included private access to the luxury auto salon in the MGM Grand Ballroom. All the luxury cars baby….Ferrari, Lamborghini, and a bunch of others. And my fav: Ford GT. Food was amazing. The desert setup was decadent! I even made a joke on twitter that TPG bought me out and I splurged on a Ferrari lol #thedream #notreally.

We are going back today for a mega brunch at the MGM and then pre access to the Auto Show floor where they are putting the finishing touches on the displays.

Monday is all day Press Day access where I hope we score some swag and checkout the models 😉
