Daughter just decided she wants to fly back to Michigan for July 4th weekend. And she again looked at her dad to bail her out. I said, after my recent experience burning cash to see her in August and dealing with my son’s changing plans…”you are on your own on this one, welcome to adulthood”.

Don’t want to stop in Charlotte? Sad!

Just finalized reservations for a trip to Charleston with my family, parents, and mother-in-law in a few weeks. Nine people total. Between this one and our upcoming trip to Wisconsin, we’ll have burned about 200k Hyatt points this year.

Just burned 59k Hyatt points and a free night cert in Seattle for four nights…YTD burn is now at 650k.

But, and this is so untypical for me, I had to bite hard in actually paying for airfare. Holy crap, prices have gone way up! And of course, with the disappearance of award charts and revenubaseditization everywhere….award prices have gone up too. If reasonable, routings take a beating. I am sorry, I just can’t do red eyes both ways to/from Seattle and no I don’t want to connect in Charlotte or Dallas, WTF! So, I stepped up to the plate and gave Delta my money for non stops in the morning…But, who knows, something good may come up as we get closer to departure and I may pull the trigger and save me some Delta e-credit for the future.

Getting closer to going under 4 million…it’s a struggle lol.

Perhaps someone can explain to me why anyone would willingly submit themselves to the mediocrity that is United? Flew them international last week and what a joke. The Polaris lounge, ok that may work for dining if you get there at a minimum of 3 hours before your flight. The Polaris business class seats are uncomfortable. The food is so uninspiring and tasteless. The crews are surly and after meal service they disappeared not to be see again until they had to do breakfast before landing. In the meantime the blogger who is the massive United fanboy and gets moist in his pants anytime he thinks of United seems to think that having a posh wine list is going to help. But won’t you actually need staff to do their job and serve the customers?

Just found the most amazing video of a performance of an artist I saw last weekend and who I thought he had died all along…only to discover he has been at it doing his thing creating music not compromising, need to respect that…Will share it with you on Friday.
