Wow…I also wanted to burn some for the novelty of it all…but now I think I am more than okay saving them miles for more trips!

Flew the Etihad apartment product for the first time on A6-APF. The crew was great – Bruno, Eyerusalem and chef Alex took good care of me with attentive service and great little conversations throughout the flight. They also did a good job with turn down service as well as keeping the cabin and bathrooms clean.

On the other hand, I didn’t feel that the hard product was up to par – sure, the apartment 4K was great and spacious overall, but there were too many little things that became more than just annoyance throughout the flight. The main ones:

– The right side door of the toiletries cabinet would not latch and kept swinging open (and light shining). The same thing happened with the right side door in apartment 3K.

– The headphones storage area door was also not latching most of the time in 4K (had to slam and coerce it into closing every time).

– The noise cancelling headphones were so good that they completely cancelled all sound in the left cup. I had to twist and hold the cord at the plug end to get them to work.

– Neither of the two USB ports in 4K worked (the universal power outlet did work).

– Sliding doors in both 4K and 3K were sliding open on their own throughout the flight.

All of these should be fairly minor fixes and would ensure that the little things like that won’t mar otherwise outstanding product you provide on the A380.

Good to know about Cardcrash! I avoid all of these sites exactly for the reason you stated…when something goes bad (and it will!) the heartache trying to sort it out is just TOO much!
