BTW have you ever thought about doing “Award Travel Booking” ? I’ve paid for it a few times and it was totally worth it to me. It sounds like you may be sufficiently knowledgeable though I have to say the guys that booked me were unbelievable in terms of knowing all the airlines, affiliates, hubs, flights, etc. etc.

Sorry to hear about the foot. Seems like once we turn 50 we start falling to bits with never ending injuries of the most obscure kind.

Anyhoo want to mention if you ain’t been to Malta don’t bother. Thought it was one of the dullest places in existence. Noisy locals, brown landscape, hot as hell and food which I would not return for. The shining light was the double points bonus for staying at the Hyatt. And a surprise for me, I returned to the US on a BA redemption in business – thank you Alaska for coming through as usual. Have to say I was very impressed with their new seats. Way better than Polaris as was the food. I mean, who doesn’t love scones with jam and clotted cream with a mini Victoria sponge for arvo tea. Yummo.

I am sorry about the foot problems. Glad to read you are healing but I know it will be slow. Damage or age or injury….it gets us all sooner or later. Dealing with some stuff myself and having to accept new limitations is just not fun, right? Hope for the best for you, George!

Man, do NOT start me on the debacle that is Expedia’s One Key BS! I needed a last minute cheap spot in SEA by the airport for me and the daughter & Fam last week. Nothing fancy, just a spot for some sleep, shower and fly. My Hotels.com thing had like $159 in it so time to use. But because of the new system, it took me and a guy speaking… I dunno… Martian? an HOUR to make it all work for a simple 2 rooms stay to use up my credit and spend some more $$. Never again, that whole system is dead to me.
