Guys, I appreciate the feedback really! What I do is NOT a science, it is an art. Gary L. went off on me on twitter for making him my only “Not so Best of” entrant. It was late at night, this blog takes hours, I have no life anymore. And I have been threatened with lawsuits and managed to piss off every blogger…

His list wasn’t even “10 best values to use points” or “10 best hotels where points can be used”

Nope…. it was just a list. Of 10 random hotels. Where points could theoretically be used. With no particular pattern to quality, value or personal experience (#1 is an uber fancy hotel that nobody would actually use points on. #2 is a hotel described as “not one of the most luxurious hotels in the Carribean”)

Give me 10 minutes, I’ll put a list together of places you can use points in South America. Best of baby!!!

TBB is a total hack for the Points Guy! How many gratuitous credit card links are there there every dang day? Rarely shows up in the worst of. How many times does he write about what other bloggers have found, days later, without attribution and without winding up on the Worst Of? And now giving him props for a list of hotels. Really?

Hey, I am both Australian and USA based – dual citizen! I cater to both countries with some international thrown in but no credit card links. Oh well, if you ever get tired of the luxury resorts and first class cabins and want to visit the depth of the rainforest where macaws try to steal your breakfast, you know where to find me!

I can see your points. I was interested in the Caribbean region hotels, he gave me some targets to shoot for. Of course I will do further research elsewhere, it was just a starting point. I am no filler kind of guy!

When I want to know where I “can” use my hotel points, I use the hotels website. When I want to know where I “should” use my hotel points, I use TripAdvisor.

I fail to see what value TPG added here.

If we’re going to criticize MMS for taking complicated stuff and making it uber-simple, shouldn’t it be even moreso for a TPG who takes uber-simple stuff…. and keeps making it uber-simple. Because despite being a full-time blogger he still can’t come up with original content?

The reason this work is so tough for you TBB is because you’re actually providing comprehensive analysis and commentary in your posts. He’s just filling up space on his front page

Except his post didn’t really contain anything useful that you couldn’t pull off the programs website

Even the descriptions of the hotel were mostly copy/pasted work

Actually, I must admit, I really liked this Top 10 post as I was looking for something like that! We go to NYC so often and getting to Caribbean for a quick getaway is really nice.

Wait to see tomorrow’s MVP post. Gary is on a roll, I am starting to feel like telling him “post more cc stuff more often”! Not really…but still, some amazing content lately.
