Hello everyone,

Just some replies to some comments here as I am trying not to TBB too much, Mrs. TBB needs attention you know...

I knew the F/A article will get a reaction from Ramsey. And an amazing tip he gave, wow! I think I am going to do it on my flight to Detroit from Houston (on United via Dallas...on a paid ticket, gulp! Only $87 by the way hehe).

I think I became a free agent in 2012...or maybe it was 2011. For people who are not business travel road warriors aiming for elite status is reserved for the true travel addicts, looking at you konorth :-) The point is if you are doing mileage runs to achieve status...the price you pay is definitely not worth it. Again, in most cases, we are different!

Mike: transfer UR points to United and use the UA award search engine and most likely you will find something, not that hard. I am not sure any travel agents who specialize on what you want. I have a friend who is getting her travel agent credentials but I think she will be targeting more specialized stuff, like tours, and hotel packages....Not sure there is any money left for travel agents to do air tickets anymore! There are several award specialists out there, I never used one :-)

Yeah, definitely buy the treats for the plane crew at the airport, freshness matters :-)

Chicago what?? Been to the first two, still disgusted how the Nightline crew was interviewing people and the attention it took by the organizers. Anyways, my point is I did not know this dude was at that event. He definitely knows the hobby. Someone tell him to move away from the mail room where he does the interviews lol.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment

I have seen flowers, chocolates, flowers, cookies, popcorn, egg mcmuffins, McDonalds Exec's at ORD always come on with a stack of free food coupons, Starbucks, home baked banana bread and much more but often every airport has something local that is popular like Philly airport n soft pretzels, Boston Logan n Dunkin Donuts.

The upgrade would be nice, I suppose, but that's kind of secondary. What would you suggest as a nice gesture for a noon or later flight?

Wow Ramsey, what a cool idea. Not for the upgrade, but a reminder that it's a nice thing to do. The guy who did the HuffPo interview...I have seen him at Chicago Seminars (sore subject, sorry, sorry Buzz...), but my point is he is one of us, so he gets it.

That is a GREAT freaking idea Ramsey ! How about if it is not in the early morning ?

I am going to make a practice of that. Only tricky part is, and I am not up on the rules, do those have to be purchased in the airport or is it now OK to bring food from outside ?

Thanks!

Mike every flight, especially on frequent domestic routes is like Bill Murray in groundhog day......Here is a tip for those who want special attention inflight..... if it is any early morning flight bring a box of donuts (or other similar treat) onboard for the entire flight crew and give it to them as you enter. They left the hotel w/o breakfast,6 hors sleep and are starving........This would happen to us about once a month or so, usually given by someone who is a VERY frequent business traveler...............I would ALWAYS upgrade them once the front door closed or at the very least cocktails were gratis..
BTW, just flew last week and noticed coach beers were $7 now, we charged .50 cents when I started, dam

Another great blog post by Buzz, and I thank you.

I'd rather read that Flight Attendant article than the snarky ones that say how much they hate all the different types of passengers. Everyone is different, maybe that is just the way she does it. I have to admit though I just presumed it was like Ramsey above said, because they are so overworked and have so many passengers and maybe it is in the majority of cases.

Have to say that my last flight in premium economy, sitting by the galley, there were a couple of lady stewardesses that were very nice to me. One was kind of mean but then she came around. Never mind though.

Thanks for the link summarizing the Chase rules. I think I'm going to burn my Ultimate Reward miles on a business class flight to Europe in 2016, if I can find any space available. Maybe sign up for another co-branded card if I can get a big bonus. Then thinking about trying to accumulate some AA miles, versus Thank You Points. (?)

Maybe I should classify that under New Year's resolutions ?

Meanwhile, I'd like to find a super savvy travel agent that knows how to take advantage of the "premium flights deals" over on Flyer Talk. I could book the basic flights, but some of the people there are just experts on stopovers and trick itineraries. I really don't even know which places are worthwhile to stopover. Say Heidelberg vs. Zurich, maybe neither between those two. How can I find an agent like that ? I wouldn't mind paying a fee for the service.

At work, will check the other stories later.
