Hi, wondered what happened to you, been a while, nice to see you still around. And congrats on the cute kid, looks adorable!

Oh yeah, the AA one world explorer ticket, didn't last long #sosad.

Just fyi, son is in his 2nd year at the University of Michigan in Engineering. Looks like he is going for Computer Science and was always interested in games...He will be looking for internships for next summer and is looking at Silicon Valley. If any leads/interest/contacts/advice, please email me, thanks.

And thanks for the kind words.

Best,

George

@GringoLoco - Never been to the Hyatt Danang (having only stayed at the Intercon), but the area is pretty amazing. Hoi An is a must see if you're into food and old towns, Hue has some great palaces and temples, and Marble Mountain is utterly otherworldly.

@George - the digital nomad burnout is real! My wife and I did 26 countries in a year way back when AA's one world explorer ticket was still a thing, RIP :(. Fortunately, I was prepared for loneliness having spent 3 years prior working from home where my two daily in person interactions were a barista and my wife - haha.

After a year solid on the road we were ready to make a home base. That being said, after we "settled" all I wanted to do was travel so we were out of the country for 2 months the year after.

Now that we have a kid I've only traveled domestic this year - so sad.

Love the site, btw! Been following you on and off for a few years now.

Vietnam is really fascinating! So the whole digital nomad thing. I did it before it was digital. Gap year between college and graduate school. Carried a backpack around the world before there was luggage with wheels or frequent flier miles. Did it with two friends before we were married. Still in touch with both. Have ten adult children between us. They have normal lives. I am the travel addict.

I stayed in Hoi An for two nights, took a car with driver (English speaking) for touristic drive up to Hue, where I spent the night. Did a tour with motorcyle guide in morning then returned with driver in the afternoon to Hoi An. Rained like crazy on the way back, check what season you will be in before you go! Danang seemed nice, and a friend of mine recommends it, but I just flew into there because there are cheap flight with HK Express from HK.

Good morning, sorry for you third!

Slept in today, woke up at 7.13 am, that is SO late for me! I think the awesome red wine I had at the Toledo Greek festival had something to do with it.

Amazing that Rick I. is back posting way more here than what he was phoning in for the $$ on Friday and Saturday nights...Hey, it must be entertainment, a primary mission of TBBiness lol.

TBBon

I hear good things about Danang, it's on my list, waiting for a three digit offer to sell out so I can travel there woohoo!

Hey Mike, any chance you've stayed at the Hyatt in Danang? If so, thoughts? Have one more DSU to bern -- er, burn -- and looking for a SE Asia spot for a week...
