My wife and I like the Royal Orchid Sheraton by the river. Well priced normally, nice rooms, and a super nice buffet breakfast. Laundry service nearby that doesn’t charge $3 to wash a shirt, unlike hotels. And peacocks hanging out by the swimming pool.

The Hilton was more of a pool resort than a beach resort although the beach was quite near. My wife and I liked the location a lot since we could easily walk to various restaurants. The hotel overall was okay. It would have been better if it hadn’t catered to some less than ideally behaved Chinese tour groups. For example, children grabbing food off my and my wife’s plates during breakfast, while we were eating. The club lounge was nice enough. In short, not great not awful. If you have status that gets you lounge access and breakfast when rates are not too bad, it’s likely worthwhile. I’d be more specific but it’s been some years now.

Been learning more about the property, it is definitely not Maldives caliber 🙂 But at 12,000 points per night IF a Suite Upgrade can be applied…for no more than 7 nights I think we may still go for it, time to email my Conscierge to see what is the outlook on the Suite upgrade in our preferred dates #developing.

How did you like the Hilton? It is now a Pullman, Accor property…and I am a lifetime Platinum and may do a one or two paid nights to experience another area of the island in either end of our HR stay…
