I did tell them I’m not responsible for payments on the AU card after the initial rejection, thought I was all set, was rejected again, and when I called in again they told me they recorded in their notes for the application re-evaluation that I “AM” responsible for the payments on that card. When I pointed out that it didn’t make sense that I would say that, and that they likely have a recording of our prior conversation they could check, they agreed it must be a typo so they carefully reviewed my credit history while I waited on hold for awhile, re-submitted it, and the next day the account appeared in my login.

I’m a little sad to be shut out of the good Chase cards for the foreseeable future, but I picked up all the good ones while I could. My Southwest companion pass that expires the end of this year will likely be the last one I ever see.

Congrats to you on almost being out of the Chase doghouse! It’ll feel both freeing and burdensome.
