Like you, I’ve been thinking about remote work. So far, it has been almost all about employees trying to keep working at home. But I see a possible time when employers start taking control. For example, your son is working in Honolulu for Microsoft now. But maybe Microsoft starts thinking “Yeah, Buzz Jr, is great, but we can hire anybody across the USA and there’s this wizard in Cleveland”. Work from anywhere, hire from anywhere. Gulp.

Now let’s go a bit further down the road. The kid in Cleveland is super, but there’s an absolute genius in Kathmandu. Gulp, Gulp.

Now we’ll need to get those English skills up several notches but some are already doing that-a Comcast CSR I spoke to 2 weeks ago was in Honduras but spoke flawless English.
