It’s been a long time since Mao died and the gang of 4 were arrested. China is a prosperous country. GDP per capita is $12k, like Poland two decades ago. If you can afford to grow defense by 7-10%/year, you certainly have ambitions beyond feeding your population (=> affluent enough to have “principles”). The road and belt initiative, especially in Africa, will ensure great Chinese influence across multiple continents. It’s China first! (and Ukraine last).

China and India stand for making sure their people don’t starve or freeze. Principled stands are a lot easier to make when you can afford the cost. They can’t.

The natural successor to the DO was probably me but I just don’t have the bandwidth. FM never showed any interest…the event had a distinct no cc pumping feel to it so I am not sure it was a fit for his business. Plus they are all traveling three continents these days 🙂

@ Nick: This year active looks a little bit better of course. 10 years is not a very long time sure but active managers don’t keep anything more than 10 months max! 🙂 Your last sentence nails it “The hard part is finding one.”—–>and if you do, the investor will likely bail out before said manager makes it through a rough period.

@ Carl: Yeah, back in the groove slowly and steadily…I am open to be wrong on crypto and many other things, world is changing too fast and getting surprised/shocked is becoming a part of our daily lives…so never say never. All I know is I have not invested a dime and have not advised my clients to do so. A few have done very minor amounts in their play accounts, went up and down so a round trip…so far. In next post I will have a link with letters from Celsius account holders pleading to the bankruptcy judge to make an exception to be let to access their own locked up funds…and it is profoundly sad reading!

This blog is at 9 cc conversions in the past four months…when I am supposed to have 10 per month to keep my links…so the hammer is expected any day…which will make it so much easier to walk away with a good shot to appear to the Bloggers With 10 Years Regular Posting Hall of Fame which will satisfy my ego…I guess.
