I mentioned yesterday that I upgraded my no fee Hilton Hhonors Amex card to the Surpass Amex, primarily because I wanted to get my Gold Elite status back. Well, less than 48 hours later and boom, talk about speed!

Yeah, last week I did the same thing with the AMEX Surpass and got an almost immediate upgrade to HHonors gold. Good trick to know for folks who suddenly find themselves heading to a Hilton. It’s kind of a no-brainer to “go gold” with this offer.
Yeah, definitely I am a belieber now! I am still mad at myself for losing Gold…I swear I had seen somewhere it was good until 2016. And email says it now is good until 2017…Oh well, hoping for an awesome breakfast at Hilton Frankfurt airport and a suite!

Booked and got the rooftop exec room with terrace, and was told about breakfast and given the wifi code without for it because it’s included. All things HH diamonds whine about on FT about this property for not getting :p
When you upgrade your AMEX HH to Surpass, I know you don’t get the bonus points, but do you have to pay the AF up front? Or after 1 year? If it’s 1 year, can you upgrade-downgrade-upgrade… ?
I correct myself, upgrading does give you points! And no HP! But it sounds like this can only be done once.

I believe the fee is prorated based on the no fee Amex anniversary date. And yes bonus points! As far as getting it again maybe P can elaborate.
