I heard of this happening and now it appears that more Club Carlson Visa cardholders are receiving an offer for a free hotel night. Travel With Grant has all the details. I have received nothing so far! Looking out for the mail and being careful with the email spam folder!
If you have the American Express Platinum card you are entitled to these benefits when you book a hotel in the Fine Hotels & Resorts FH&R list. Very likely still overpriced but sometimes it may be worth it if you were going to be considering one of these hotels in your travels.
MileCards with another great post on how to use the Qantas website to find American Airlines AAdvantage award space. Yeah, this site sells credit cards. But at least they offer good content and not bombard you with super pumping like others in this ever worsening space!

Many bloggers in this space are responsible for pumping plastic to anyone who can convert to a sale. The sad reality is many are just not prepared to handle it. The really bizarre and unfortunate thing about this is…well, we responsible credit card users who never pay a penny of interest and never let one of these fall through the cracks benefit…big time! But still, society is probably still not better off after everything is taken into account. And that has always bothered me…Yes, it is the ones who click on them who are ultimately responsible for their actions but I think we should be screaming caution as much as pumping the benefits of the cards to sell them…yeah, right…doing that does not increase conversions and banks get mad and cut you off #sad

Things That Will Happen If I Don’t Take My Phone Out Right Now
Every five minutes or so, I’ll stop dead and think, “Oh no, I lost my phone” while pawing at my body, trying to figure out in which pocket, purse, or bra cup I left it.
Someone will send me an e-mail marked “URGENT” and it will, for once, actually be quite urgent (probably about free food), and I won’t see it until it’s too late (all the free food is gone).
I will make eye contact with someone.
I will have to spend at least one second of my life not agonizing over how everyone else’s life seems better. (How are you always at a cottage? Who drove you there? You don’t have a car and I don’t understand.)
I won’t be able to post photos of my boyfriend and me being in love, so people will just have to assume we’re in love without photographic proof, which is basically the same as announcing our separation.
And this looks like the TBB cat smh
