How to book Etihad flights with American AAdvantage miles. One day I will book a flight with this airline…
American Airlines inked deal with both Citibank and Barclaycard US to keep giving us their miles. I like it. But not sure I follow this part: “Barclays will have exclusive rights to market its cards in airports and planes, while Citibank will have rights to aa.com β mobile, direct mail, and Admirals Club lounges.”Β Prepare to be assaulted in the airports, lounges and aboard the plane by aggressive FAs & staff hawking plastic. Yikes!
Cranky Flier takes a deeper look at which airlines were chosen to fly to Havana. Interesting stuff.
Accor finalized the purchase of Fairmont. The end is near…as in the end of my Lifetime Platinum Fairmont President’s Club membership. All great things must come to an end but this one REALLY hurts!
I did not know that TripAdvisor had started a flight review service. Interesting to see how this develops in comparison to the hotel review service they pretty much own!
11 Amazing Waterfall Hikes in America. Nice non-AFAR list.
Best steakhouse in every state. Subjective as always of course. Bon apetit!
The History of Urbanization from 3700 BC to 200 AD. VERY cool!

I burned 20k Avios to fly son in Cathay Pacific Business Class to Tokyo from Hong Kong. I let him fly back with some dinky low cost airline with his own money. Hope to get another guest trip report post or two. Next weekend he is going to Shanghai. Not sure he does much studying in Hong Kong! My girls are still in China, now at Tengchong. Previously at Kunming and Baoshan. Maybe my wife can do a post…now THAT will be a First! It’s so quiet around here, even cat Fluffy is no longer around. Here is a pic at Tengchong:
And I leave you with this…When I go out it will be like this lol.

Hi.

Damn you Buzz. Keep your damned carnivore links off the blog or I will stop supporting you! Oh, wait, well, um, er, never mind…
Seriously, it is sooooooooooo difficult to find good meat (four-legged variety) here. And don’t even get me started on Nicarawawa (HT: Jimmy Carter) where eating sandals is more satisfying.
I did download a couple of the pictures to take to my butcher. He’s never seen a decent piece of marbled beef — this will wake him the hell up!
Bronze, I think…

I will dedicate the steak I am going to eat today to you and all TBB readers!

Not a fan of the Los Ranchos steakhouse?
GringoLoco says
May I revise my remarks?
Los Ranchos is good — probably the best place to eat carne rojo in MGA — and I always make a point to visit if only to run into F$LN bigwigs living the Life. Harry’s Bar (RIP or QEPD) was very good with imported Argentine beef. Friends are telling me I need to try Porterhouse on my next visit.
To clarify, I was referring to walking into a supermarket or going to a carneceria where the quality of the local beef is, politely, substandard.
When I still lived there I’d make the trek to San Martin’s plant (hard to find off carr. norte “near” the airport). At the time it was the ONLY place in MGA to find t-bones. Their beef is good but far too lean for me.
We now return you to #TBBon…

Baoshan? Why would anyone fly to Baoshan? I flew there for work… π Going to Kunming and Mangshi again on July 27-30 :p
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Baoshan was the main site of the dance camp. They return this Saturday. Thanks for that Kunming hotel recommendation, they really liked it!

Is that blue painting thing a good place to meet chicks?
Thinking we can start having those over here.

Doubt this will happen here, the Evangelicals will freak out! π

Etihad is pretty much unbookable at the moment. This blog post was maybe OK
6 months ago, not today. Australia trick doesn’t work anymore. The Etihad guest
availability on their website is not seen by any AA agent, again, in Fiji or US.
There is no way to book a connection in F. It’s a huge mess and only shows
how “valuable” AA miles are today LOL
Another blogger “expert” with amazing up-to-date information…

I agree with you. Still good reference post to bookmark when…it turns. It eventually will, time heals π

I’ve been to Yosemite. Spectacular. #6 and #7 are special places. Ithaca is in the southern end of the Finger Lakes region.
P.S. not last.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I need to get my butt to these parks.
Too early to be last, what is going on? π

Hey Buzz.
Word on the street is that you went on the Brooklyn Reality Tour. We’re all buzzing (no pun intended) to hear about it. #amazon π

I did not take enough pics to make a blog post about it. I mentioned it several times already. Now I have like 600 pics from the Asia trip I need to get through. In other words, not going to be a separate blog post on the BRT which I REALLY enjoyed!
GringoLoco says
BRT is on my bucket list. So far it’s only been a wine donation project for me…
