My daughter turns 14 years old this week, wow!
Watching Olympics dreaming about winning Gold!
Blogosphere is dead. Especially over this weekend, wow! So dead I just RT pakalu papito! So bored. After seeing a tweet by The Points Guy and how amazed he is of Santorini #justsaying
One reason it was so dead this weekend it was because bloggers were here.
And I leave you with this…TBB intern waiting for a CSP card to get credited ๐
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

Bad day to be on Delta.

Congrats to the medal winners. Hey, it goes hand in hand with the Olympics!
Delta: Great operationally. LOL.

Thanks for the Leon link, my mother-in-law’s from there, though I haven’t been in ages.
I think I’ve tried one of those quesillo vendors, we drove an hour just to get there. Quesillos are comfort food, maybe like BBQ is for some of us. Never cared too much for them myself though.

Whenever I hear of Nicaragua, it reminds of the Sandinistas and Ortega…oh wait, he is back ๐
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
He just made his wife his VP candidate for the upcoming elections.

not all blogger were at FTU. Played softball at Wrigley yesterday with Dansdeals.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Is this guy still on Cloud 9 after the Cavs NBA championship?
Ted says
Did not talk to him, really didn’t want to get a cc pitch. It was a little disrespectful to wear Cleveland Indian hat at a Cubs event.
Dan says
Over 2 dozen people came over to chat with me, tell me they enjoy the blog, and ask take selfie. Frankly I was shocked, but it was quite nice. You could have said you hate my blog as well, I wouldn’t take offense ๐
People even knew who some of the other guys on my team were from past DD trip reports like the island hopper. Blew my mind.
And the Indians cap is the only baseball cap I own and I didn’t feel like getting sunburn. Besides, together with the Cubs jersey I was just previewing the 2016 World Series matchup ๐
marc says
Dansdeals team was the light blue team right? What color team were you on yesterday?
Dan says
No, the official DansDeals team was in the pinstripe jerseys that we won via auction.
But several other DD readers used points for the buy it now option on the blue team, though people from every time came over to me yesterday to chat. Was quite a neat experience overall.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I am not a baseball fan.
But I AM a women’s beach volleyball fan woohoo!
Anonymous says
Rats, never got a chance to play y’all. We were the red team that lost in the championship. Maybe next year, I will get my revenge!
No Cubs alumni this year, which I found to be surprising and disappointing.
Dan says
Yup, we won our first game against yellow 14-5.
Then we played the white team that won the championship in our 2nd game. We were tied 1-1 in the last inning and our right fielder made an error that cost us the game.
What was the score of the championship game?
David Otto was there. Played more for the tribe than the Cubbies though ๐
marc says
final score was 4-3. They had a controversial home run, but we were down 4-0 for most of the game until we got 3 in the 5th. It was definitely a blast to play in the game. I wonder how much next year will cost, they seem to increase it 2,500 points every year.

George, these lists are lame. First of all no Greece and then Brussels and London as food hotspots??? Thats the moment you decide to put business insider on your ‘lists to ignore’!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Once in a while you get some good stuff on them. Hey, it was a very sloooow weekend! Can’t be TBB eclectic to the max…sometimes I slip….like bloggers you know ๐

Love the dog gif.
Buzz, will we be able to sign up for that new super Sapphire thing via your links?
If I already have a Sapphire will I be eligible?
100K bonus miles ? ? ? ! ! !
Am I missing out by not attending these travel expert seminars? Didn’t they just have one in your home town?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Not sure if the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card will be available with my links. But I can assure you that if it is available with direct affiliate links…you will hear about it in the commercial blogs. Like EVERY freaking day ๐
Word on the street is that it may be available only in branch. And it appears it may be limited to the 5/24 rule. Which pretty much eliminates most of this blog’s readers.
We shall find out very soon about this card.
These travel seminars are great to socialize with fellow mileage addicts. If you are new and want a good wrapup it could be a good way to get your progress speeded up. If you do read the blogs of the bloggers presenting you will likely not learn much at all. Again, it is about the networking done before/after and in between sessions. And remember these act as another marketing avenue by the blogger presenters who use them for credibility and to meet readers and enhance relationships and, of course, convert to clicks/MONEY! I would personally not go near them anymore, it is ridiculous to pay that high entrance fee plus travel expenses to learn how to travel for….FREE. WTF! And some are just pumping machines, why legitimize these plastic drug pushers?
The one in Ann Arbor has always been free. It is a tradition by now. We have a good time in the good old spirit of Flyertalk which has been perverted by the rise of the blog mega business selling “expertise” while really pushing bank products to an unsuspecting audience that is kept in the dark so the business can maximize conversions from them…
Mike says
Classic comment post, Buzz ! Thanks for telling it like it is ! Every noob needs to visit your site !
The Ann Arbor one, didn’t you call it an Arts Faire or something? And did you say freeeee? Maybe I can come out next year, I have a friend in Delevan.
Maybe they’ll let me cancel out my regular Sapphire and get it, as I only have 2 new cards in last year. Except that new Costco Citi card which was sort of a forced conversion.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Now if only every newb that ever visited here got a CSP card woohoo!
Ann Arbor Art Fair. There is actually a famous Art Fair that takes over a big part of downtown at the same time.
Delevan?
2 new cards in last year? You are safe for this one…Makes sense for the first year only, especially if you double up the air credits.

Ah, Leon… I have mixed feelings. My friends own Hotel La Perla which is a great little colonial hotel — best in Leon. The town is hot and dusty and filled with $andinistas but then the whole country is going that way. Beaches are close-by so there is that…
Quesillos are one of my favorite foods on the planet — it took living there and having my nica family force them on me!
There is a new Hyatt Place but in MGA — have stayed there and it is, well, a Hyatt Place in Managua! They do have (so-so) nacatamales and pinto at breakfast if that’s your thing. Stumbling distance from the bars/clubs at Las Gallerias, not that **I** would ever do that!?
Was involved in some bio-fuels/bio-gas projects out in the middle of Miskito territory. Unfortunately I abandoned most of it — too much angst between the F$LN central government and the Mayanga people in the project. Viable small scale project for poor country folk.
Another fine effort, Buzz. Can you do something about the rain killing my satellite signal?
#TBBon
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Great feedback, very educational.
I got my interns working on improving your satellite signal. Translation:Don’t expect much lol.
