If you apply for the Chase Ink Business Preferred card inside a branch the $95 annual fee will be waived for the first year. While there ask for any pre-approvals…and that is exactly what I am going to do! What, your favorite blogger is silent about it, you don’t say! Changes to Chase Hyatt Credit Card. I still can’t get over the new moronic Elite names they came up with, wow! Seriously, is there a reason to hold on to this credit card? I am spending my “free” $75 night in a Hyatt Place in Michigan in a few weeks and then intend to close the card. Because I like free and don’t want to spend $49 for a “free” night at a Hyatt Place lol. Apparently, this “free” night in a Cat 1-4 hotel will still be offered in the new program…I liked the Platinum status that came with the card, Discoverist just doesn’t do it for me!

Anything I share publicly gets slaughtered in minutes/hours/days. Things I don’t talk about publicly are still working. I am sure this is correct for many others. What is the benefit of discussing publicly? Ive been around a long time FT and the likes since 2000-01. It used to be a place I shared and helped others. Once bloggers came along and stole that content and continued to out deals I disappeared from the radar. Like in any other business, I am not in the habit of giving away state secrets. Just doesn’t make sense to shoot yourself in the foot. I want to tell others of deals (its my nature to help) but its not feasible any more and hasn’t been for a while.

Isn’t the annual fee on the Hyatt $75? I still think it’s a good deal though, there are plenty of good hotels in Hyatt 1-4.

I recently redeemed this year’s Hyatt CC free night and while I did get more than the AF out of it, I’m ditching the card. I like Hyatts and the card has worked well enough, but with the changes to their program – plus the desire to free up some room for another card in the near term – I’m out.

I hate to say this about Valencia, but there is a chronic problem with a sewer like smell all over the city. It seems to come on go on a day by day basis. I thought it was just my B&B but I googled it and found lots of posts about it. Overwhelmed sewer system due to tourism? Storm and sanitation sewers one and the same? Something about the characteristics of the underlying earth/soil? I even found one citation from hundreds of years ago where a pope who visited Valencia noted it. I know that sounds hard to believe but yeah there were times during my stay when it just kind of stunk.
