Should Selling An Amex Platinum Card With 40k Signing Bonus Be a Felony?

This is my first real attempt to write a click-bait headline, how do you like it? Just kidding. Consider this a PSA to help you get more Amex Membership Rewards points and avoid making greedy bloggers richer!

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I like to take it easy on the weekends around here and give me a breather. So the posts are much shorter usually and sometimes I even skip Saturdays!

One of the things in this hobby that drive me crazy is the incredibly shitty practices of some bloggers who put their pockets first ahead of their readers’ benefit. One long standing practice to easily figure out which blogger screws you on purpose vs another blogger who is more ethical and cares you get the best advice has always been the offer for the personal version of the AMEX Platinum card. The affiliate link some bloggers push is for just 40k Membership Rewards points but you can almost always do better than that! But they don’t tell their readers that of course because those other offers are not by their affiliates, therefore they do NOT get paid!

This practice has been going on forever in this space, heck I wrote a thesis on the subject years ago! After a while, you learn who to trust and who to run away from. Please check out my Blog Review lists.

You can do MUCH better than 40k. Do NOT click on our link that appears in the credit card banner we use, we have no control over this! Just know if you see a direct link for a 40k personal Amex Platinum card, you should reconsider your views about that blog and, if I were you, stop reading it for crying out loud! Why would you support a business that gives you a product that is not the best for you…is beyond me!

And remember, Amex card signing bonuses are now given once per lifetime of the card. DO NOT WASTE THIS ONE FOR JUST 40K POINTS. To me, this should be a felony. Others may think this is too harsh. Whatever. I think it should be a felony and 6 months at Guantanamo. No, I am not angry, thank you for your concern. Just stop buying a 40k personal AMEX Platinum NOW and when you see such a link tell them to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

So, respect bloggers who show respect for their readers. Help them out please so they can keep going. If not, these Titan bloggers pushing 40k Amex Platinum links down their readers’ throats win.
