We go back to the LA riots days, go on a North Pole travelogue, laugh at human stupidity laws, watch awesome travel videos and introduce Swear Trek!

I like to keep it very light here in the weekends as traffic always goes down. Which is understandable. I think I am going to keep posting these “3 Links I Love” type posts…which are almost never just three as I don’t like to mail it in. I also like to keep away from the obsessive miles and points hobby in the weekends because the amount of useless unimportant noise and drivel is getting a bit much for my, admittedly high, threshold.
Click on each headline to be transported to the original story.
If you enjoy my blog, please pass the link to someone you care about so they can enjoy it too, thank you.
What Photographers Of The LA Riots Really Saw Behind The Lens
This is the story of the Los Angeles Times photographers who risked their lives to bring these stunning photographs to the world after the chaotic mayhem that followed the Rodney King verdict. You MUST click and at least take a look at these photos. I don’t produce them here because they are licensed by Getty Images…The year was 1992, wow. Has it been that long already?
I repeat, it is a must click. But if you are not strong or just can’t stand blood, you may not want to look! (warning: Bloody!).
NORTH: An Illustrated Travelogue
Well, I have not seen anything like this online. This is an illustration of the author’s trip to the North Pole. It is so nicely done for National Geographic. Yes, it is an illustration…and it moves along so well it is like you are right there experiencing it all. Give it a click and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
The Five Universal Laws of Human Stupidity
This will not be a TBB post if we did not have some fun around here. So, enough looking at dead bodies and polar bears in the North Pole, it is time to talk about…stupidity, yes!
It is a fun post, let me bring you the five basic laws:
Law 1: Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
Law 2: The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
Law 3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
Law 4: Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
Law 5: A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.
And its corollary:
A stupid person is more dangerous than a bandit.
We can do nothing about the stupid. The difference between societies that collapse under the weight of their stupid citizens and those who transcend them are the makeup of the non-stupid. Those progressing in spite of their stupid possess a high proportion of people acting intelligently, those who counterbalance the stupidβs losses by bringing about gains for themselves and their fellows.

Internet’s Best New Travel Videos
Some amazing work! Which one is your favorite? Mine is the one about the Lofoten Islands, mesmerizing! Enjoy them ALL!
Fine, if you are lazy, you can see the Lofoten Islands video right here then:

Swear Trek
This is just way too much fun. Tagline is “Infinite vulgarity in infinite combination“. All in Star Trek scenes, brilliant! Just a few “mild” samples:

Not really…
For the record, I try to have the original link.
If someone finally sues me, I am going all in on pumping secured credit cards.Too bad I know you do not qualify as your credit score is high π
TBBTheDude says
Not sure if this gold medal should count…maybe I insert sneakily into Terms & Conditions that contest only applies to USA based readers….ok, North America as they can come in and go at will now that we have no wall π

Feedly update Sunday morning at Panera (yeah, I went back, missed the hazelnut coffee).
For a stretch of several hours I had not one but TWO scheduled draft posts, wow! Am I getting this blogging thing down in a professional way? Or should I hire me a Senior Editor to pump out 300 words in 30 minutes or less? π
Took a look at my post today and I must say….I enjoy laughing at them most of all. And I know many of you like this stuff. You can not say it is boring here. Or you see similar content anywhere else. I like to…innovate π
I also looked at it and saw so much hideous pumping in my post and felt disgusted #notreally.
Working on some software code right now to get all of you with such low credit scores to apply for secured credit cards with my links of course. And every combination you try…the result, please sit down, will be to apply for 7 secured credit cards (only from affiliate banks of course, come on, what do you think this is, a charity) all on the same day! Just like they do at that Frugal Travel Guy site. I am not angry…just speaking the truth. Oh, I don’t go there because it may give me herpes lol.
Sooooo…..going through Feedly, only 75 unread, slow weekend and all….
I see that Live and Let’s Fly dude, determined to by Gary Leff #2, who keeps trying to outdo his Tabloid click baity headlines….please sit down, this is…shocking!
>>>>>>>>>Fight Nearly Breaks Out on My Lufthansa Flight Over Seat Recline
Shaking my head you guys. This is just ground breaking “blogging” here, WTF!
And I see another gramatically slaughtered HEADLINE by that Rene dude, yikes! Can’t he get his wife to review before he posts? At least the %%#ing headline!
And thought leader now fishes for more shit from readers by posting:
>>>>>>>>>Engine Reportedly Falls Off United Plane, Does Anyone Have More Detail?
Nothing really is going on…
Hoping the French don’t mess it all up.
Sometimes I feel like pumping secured credit cards because you clearly don’t have high enough credit score lol.
Enjoy your weekend.
AWESOME post tomorrow. If you don’t like, I give you your money back π
The rest were some unimportant stuff

Found this interesting story of the third co-founder of APPLE, Ronald Wayne, who sold his 10% share in the company for $800. It is a short but very interesting read.

My Apple stock went up $800. On Friday. Before lunch.
Ron should join Ingy’s self-help group for early sellers.

Touching story, thanks for sharing it…
No comment on that video π

It is hard to believe it’s been 25 years since the riots. Pretty powerful pics and stories.
Applebee’s!!! LMFAO!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I know, I remember watching TV, those were some wild times.
Every time I look at that Applebee cartoon…I burst out laughing.

This TU826/Equifax832 reader enjoyed the blog post today, “gramatically slaughtered” and all.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Glad to hear it..
Thought about suggesting you a secured credit card since I am such a greedy whore…but I know your credit score is also too high π

Lofoten islands video is amazing. I think at 1:20 I spotted the soccer field that was part of the most amazing soccer fields series you shared last week.

Really? I was looking for it too…I have to play it again.
Just did, you are right, so hard to see it covered in snow!

Breaking: One Mile at a Time blog to be renamed One Hyatt Card Every Time.
frantic sales job on it over the past few days #wow
Chris says
Although the card has been around for years (especially with 2 suite award nights for Diamond in the very beginning), it feels like the dude just discovered the card.
Either he is a complete idiot (he clearly isn’t) or his fanboys readers are idiots (they most likely are).
I don’t want to sound like a broken record (I bet the troll will show up and say commenters here piss and moan), but there is clearly a frantic demand for his pumping posts otherwise he wouldn’t be doing it.
It “only” takes the idiots to stop clicking them for you to stop barfing at all this pumping (not happening). I really do not want to go there but look at Trump voters who think that he is doing a great job and we should give him more time to make things happen (not happening either).
TravelBloggerBuzz says
He is not an idiot. He just does posts to maximize conversions.
I am not sure about the frantic demand….I think it is just $ and payoff from posts. When you spend so much time doing trip reports vs doing another super easy ( cut and paste) “article: on the Hyatt credit card with the numerous affiliate links…some idiot WILL click on it. So…it just pays.
I can see it here as well. When I remind readers (whine some they call it) the clicks happen. When I go days without mentioning anything, they go way down. So…what happens is, for these guys to keep making money which means keep making the cc sales which means they keep satisfying the quotas…it just becomes a never ending cycle. Is it any wonder all these guys have become credit card sales pumping machines? Nope. It’s just, sad!
You know what is more sad? One of the best writers in this space, Julian, goes to work for The Points Guy Inc. And then produces some extreme abominable work, like the credit card draft post or this one yesterday:
>>>>>>Video Shows Flight Attendant Asking If Severe Turbulence Killed Man
There goes another one…Sad!

If anyone seen my man please tell him I miss him…and his bot too!
