We go on rocking Fairmont, look at amazing cockpit photos, learn of the top international destinations for Americans, Delta Gets Lyft, get a free hotel membership, think globally in stocks, more amazing photos and not much more because blog action is so boring lately!
TBB Blog Mission: To Entertain. Educate. Inspire. In That Order!
You can support TBB by applying for CREDIT CARDS, shopping with our AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK & clicking our REFERRAL LINKS. Thank you!
In case you missed it, you can now earn Delta Skymiles after each ride with Lyft. My Lyft referral link is HERE in case you did not have an account. To this day, I don’t think I have gotten a single Lyft referral, I am so so bad at this!
Rocking Fairmont credit card free nights and elite benefits. I am expecting Accor to announce the end of Fairmont President’s Club any day now. I am checking out two new Fairmonts later this summer: San Francisco and Claremont Club & Spa at Berkeley. I will miss being lifetime Platinum so so much, thanks for your understanding.
In case you had a stay coming up in one of the Leading Hotels of the World. I guess you could get a complimentary Leader’s Club Membership. Breakfast freeeeee for two. I pass. These are very nice hotels by the way———->that night will cost you. Hopefully your employer can pay for it 😉 This is probably what I miss the most from my corporate days, all the business travel—–>free miles and points. Other than that, not so much!
Your personal finance post of the day: Think Global to Avoid the Shrinking US Stock Market. There are some shocking stats in this post. Ok, maybe not shocking…but certainly surprising!
Photos from the cockpit. Amazing!
10 Stunning Portraits from the 2017 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest. Must click, wow!
The 10 most beautiful gas stations in the world. I grew up pumping gas in my father’s gas stations. Ours would never ever make such a list lol.
The top international destinations for Americans. For Michiganders…it is China, wow!

Looks like no laptop ban will take place. So, consider the numerous blog posts about it you saw as a waste of your time. I don’t waste your time. Well, I try!
I don’t post several times a day like other bloggers. I post once and make it count! Anyways, there was another mistake fare. From the Maldives for a ridiculously low amount. I looked at it and thought there was no way it was going to be honored. Do you think someone will be suing a Middle Eastern airline for age discrimination? Lol (visions of the $4 United mistake fare!).
Canceled Mrs. TBB’s personal Amex Platinum. She never did the Global Entry after repeated requests. Well, her loss!
And your daily dose of credit card pumping from your “expert” travel miles and points credit card bloggers salesmen.
I must say…blog action is so boring lately. I may have to continue my Asia Summer trip report soon. What comes next is my in laws and a whole army of my wife’s relatives in a huge family gathering in Sitiawan, Malaysia. Just to give you an idea, here is me with a bunch of nieces and nephews #warning

Love those photos!
My wife and I stayed at one of those Leading Hotels of the World properties years ago when they had their 80th anniversary (so, 2008 I guess!). It was the castle/palace property in Massachusetts. Beautiful suite and we had the whole place to ourselves. Cost? $19.28 for a night! I think I paid more in tips than that! haha!

That sounds like an awesome deal indeed.

Bankrate.com is looking for editors! I have no idea, but just for fun I’m going to guess there’s a chance TPG reports into this position:

One of these days I will learn more about that SEO thing…
In the meantime, I read the Friday MMS interview and my head shook so much I thought it was going to separate from my body. And this one gave kudos to Rene for inspiration!!! Just kill me now!

I am more surprised about China being the top international destination for folks in Alabama. Given the short distance to the Caribbean I suspect few travel abroad. Still there can’t be that much business travel between China and Alabama.

I’m pretty surprised about quite a few of those. I do know one person that went to Guatemala to adopt their daughter, but I definitely don’t know anyone else from NE or SD that’s been there.

Gotta be immigrant workers.

George,
Thank you for posting, I been MIA for a while. Thank you again for all of your posts, every time I read them, I enjoy them. I am trying to dial down this whole miles/points hobby thing to ~12 apps (x2) per year. Optimize my free time with more outdoor activities, mostly cycling and boating. I finally got around to redeeming 1,070,000 Hilton points for next January for 21 nights (3 rooms x 7 night), felt great to drop that currency, felt like it was to much to carry with future devaluations coming.
ABC, check this out about Alabama and China and manufacturing:

Can the new targeted UA 75k offer be had using Tor or some other trick?
TBBTheDude says
Sometimes I wonder about these maps/lists/Top10/etc.
Definitely immigrant workers are involved.
PedroNY is back! A few more days without any signs…would probably get a PedroNYGroupie out going crazy. Like ScottCastleGroupie used to hehe. That’s a nice number of Hilton points to drop in one trip, wow! I think I just barely crossed the six HH figure right now again…I hear you about optimizing time (and downgrading hobby activities…)

Since you are doing everything tourist in SF and staying at the Fairmont. You need to add dinner or at the very least drinks at the Tonga Room (Fairmont basement). And no your platinum status will not help you get a reservation, so book it early.
TBBTheDude says
I did some research on that and found conflicting feedback. I think we can find something better around the area and have a better bang for our bucks 🙂

If you don’t do sunday brunch with bottomless drinks there then you might as well not stay there 😉
Also, I pump at that “helios house” station quite often ha

BREAKING NEWS WIENER UPDATE says

“Weiner reportedly went by the name “T-Dog” while texting the teen and used an encryption app that erases messages and pictures as soon as they’re seen.”
I’m old. Do these encryption apps only delete files on ur own device or also on the receivers’ device?
Not quite understanding how his pictures were collected by the ladies.
TBBTheDude says
No idea. Anyone?
