I guess you can earn some Marriott Rewards points by connecting to them on social media. Whatever. At least it can extend the life of your points…
5% or 10% off does not get me excited much these days. But 50% off does! In IHG Rewards Club resort properties in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean!
Getting to Zambia with miles. Just two airports here you are interested in, Lusaka LUN and Livingstone LVI.
The customer of size policies of airlines. Southwest wins.
Getting pretty tough to keep up with hotels buying into the sharing economy. And this one is pretty weird as Accor was in ed with Oasis but now Hyatt has moved in. Anyone stayed at an Oasis property?
Another post on doing the Ring Road in Iceland. With a suggested itinerary.
Our deepest fears: ISIS and climate change are on top. Hey, still waiting for the 30 day plan to defeat ISIS lol.
Hey, NASA is hiring a Planetary Protection Officer. To protect us from aliens. Pays six figures. But you probably don’t qualify 🙂 (HT: Dave).
Good personal finance post: Saving for retirement in the most tax-efficient way possible.
10 Badass Trees That Won’t Die. Just like my blog 🙂
Looking for Lenin. As in the mysterious quest to find the world’s lost soviet statues. For some reason I am drawn to that era. And hell no I am no communist! Same with North Korea as well. I am weird…
A guide to driving around Europe. Cool.
This section is for advanced level hobbyists and veteran blog readers & personal rants & stuff
The Free-quent Flyer reconsiders IHG Rewards Club. Some good thoughts in there for you to consider…
That Virgin Atlantic deal thingie with Delta online sure did not last long. Amazing how bloggers express shock or dissatisfaction with such events these days! Really? REALLY! I have said it again, let me repeat, bloggers want clicks and hobbyists want deals to live on. These are two diametrically opposite things! We were a rounding error before The Points Guy and the other Titans showed up (or changed focus for the money). Hey, at least people have jobs in Rewards Abuse Team departments, sad!
These two ridiculous click bait posts showed up within 16 minutes of each other. One by View From The Wing and the other by One Mile at a Time. Coincidence? And you know their biggest fan Live and Let’s Fly just had to say something about the same incident because, you know, #kissassery
Thuggish Former United Gate Agent Suing the Man He Assaulted!
Wow, sounds urgent enough for you? WTF!
No worries, Doctor of Credit will find a way to approve of them by linking to them. Again.
We really enjoyed the Ocean Beach area in San Francisco and the trails there…I am too tired to post some pictures now, need to call it a night.
And I leave you with this…No comment, just LOLs!

I remember the times when you could stack up dozens of promo codes on IHG stays. I got 28k for a 90$ stay. Oh well

All airlines have a policy that enables you to buy an extra seat in economy if you are too fat. Its simple, if you don fit in a 17-18 inch wide seat, you have to buy up. The upcharge is usually a fraction of the fare with no additional taxes or surcharges. Why on earth should airlines give a seat away?
That diagram about driving in Europe is rather wrong… plus since no one other than the UK uses the mph metric, its also pretty confusing?

The following activities do not count toward maintaining an active status in the Marriott Rewards® program:
Earning points through social media programs, such as #MRPoints
Linking your accounts with other programs
Receiving Status Matching across program accounts
Transferring points to accounts in other programs
Gifting or transferring points
Receiving points as a gift or transfer

The old communist era stuff is interesting. Shows you how relatively quickly the world can change I guess.
The click-bait is just getting worse and worse at BA.

The trees show resistance to change. Nice contrast.

Darn 3 hour time difference and being on vacay…the Iran Trip part I posted because I forgot to change the date! So I took it off, just pretend you did not see it ok? Tghe email subscribers will see it…This is a pure amateur operation, this will never happen at TPG with all the staff there…waiting to copy other posts 🙂
I remember the good old days of the IHG Rewards Club codes, there was an FT thread with codes we can just load up….Just load them up and see what you get and don’t complain if one did not work. I think I had a post how I got almost 40k once for a one night stay! Good old days…
That Oliver dude is hell bent to rip all my infographic links I post. Or maybe infographics just suck?
So much for thinking that way can extend Marriott Rewards points, sad!
Off to Berkelyey today.
My to read list is getting very long now…

GLEFF posted a new post titled “HYPOCRISY WATCH”. Talk about hypocrisy, he is the King of it.
Note: I did not click on View From My Plate, that would also be Hypocrisy, just saw the title in MilesFeed.

I had to click to see where that tree was! Click bait!
Boy, did I miss it by a mile. For some reason I thought Portugal… anyway, nice roundup as always.

Extra IHG codes were great, but the best IHG promo was “stay x earn 10k points”.
Every night counted for many promos you could sign up for, so a stay of a few nights
was earning multiple 10000 bonuses. In one ski season I was able to earn hundreds of thousands
of points + my Royal Ambassador status. A trip to Europe = a free suite in every IC hotel
+ some presidential suites. IC Bora Bora for free many times. Best bungalow each trip.
Free minibar every time. All of that for my very cheap Holiday Inn in my ski resort town.
Very hard to get excited about anything now 🙁
Raffles says
Indeed. Everyone got a different ‘stay x nights, get 10000 points’ but FT had the full list and you could register for all. This was back in the days when an IC was 30k.

Buzz-
I’m on that Cathay Pacific 50k offer with Synchrony. I’m not sure there are affiliate links on that (yet) but if you have one, send it down.
Today.

Don’t think there are any.
Sad. But other bloggers are way more sad 🙂
Thanks.
