Hi from sunny burning San Diego, lets TBBon!
MILES & POINTS
As was expected, City National Bank “enhanced” my favorite travel rewards credit card. To be more precise, the bank absolutely destroyed it. We all expected to stop receiving $250 for each card we had of course, now we just get $350 credit (annual fee is $400). The $100 Visa Infinite Discount benefit is also gone. I could live with all that if they called it a day. Nope. The Priority Pass lounge guest policy went from unlimited guests to $32 per guest. I find that the most painful change. I mean, this is what Delta will do, separate families traveling together, it is beyond phucking mean! They also killed the 3x on gas and groceries. Ouch. I will hold until the next annual fee. If they also start charging $95 per authorized user card, I will be the only one holding it until I decide which premium card to get next. It will be REALLY weird to not have access to any lounge if it ever comes to that you guys! Do I sound entitled? For the record, I NEVER did even one dedicated blog post about the card. Did I mention it in the Blog Buzz section a few times and in the comments? Yes. I still blame the bloggers. If this card had an affiliate link attached to it…it would not have lasted that long lol! Too bad because I liked the bank and the card. Even with its horrible website reminding me of the DOS era!
Since many of you would be looking to cancel the card, here is How To Redeem City National Bank CNB Visa Infinite Points for Cash Back, Gift Cards and Merchandise.

When the commercially successful so called travel expert bloggers keep selling credit cards to their readers, always remember that a great harm is being done to real humans who should probably stay away from such weapons of mass destruction. I am pretty certain my readers are always in debt only until the next statement closes!

This is a gem! Best of Web material, very inspirational! I Meet Dead People Every Day. And it involves traveling to make its points too!
Travel is a necessary evil because the payoff is worth all the trouble. Travel broadens our perspectives and educates us about the world and how other people live. Travel reminds us of how small we are. Most importantly, travel separates us from the dead people among us.
“I meet dead people at the diner every day. People who have given up. That’s all death requires of us, to give up living. The thing is, the only real sign of life is growth. And growth requires pain. So to choose life is to accept pain. Some people go to such lengths to avoid pain that they give up on life. They bury their hearts or they drink themselves numb until they don’t feel anything anymore. The irony is, in the end, their escape becomes more painful than what they are avoiding. Ultimately we decide whether our lives are good or bad, ugly or beautiful. Some people in this world have stopped looking for beauty, then wonder why their lives are so ugly. Everyone carries divinity in them. Only through helping others can we save ourselves.” [Excerpt from the book “The Walk”]
There’s a secret ingredient that will insulate you from becoming one of the living dead. That ingredient is a charitable heart. To develop a charitable heart, you have to stop thinking about yourself and seeking attention all the time. [This does not apply to my links lol]
Amazing read about NHL dentists, wow! The ugly, gory, bloody secret life of NHL dentists. You read some of the injuries and then you realize they were patched up and missed a few minutes of the game they just came out of. INSANE! When it comes to baseball and hockey I remain completely clueless and it will remain that way.
I need to call to do this soon I think after reading this! A Delay in Getting Hearing Aids Can Mean More than Hearing Trouble.

Baseball can get complicated! The interference ruling in the world series was wild.
The Delta Reserve card is adding centurion lounge access so there is competition in that dimension.

For the record, all my clients like Medicare too!
Socialism4All says
arent you missing the sarcasm font?
Sam says
I’m still waiting fior those example of how bad Medicare is. All the polls of participants I’ve seen indicate it is very popular. Maybe the polls were skewed toward people who don’t like fighting with their insurance company, and those who hate surprise medical bills.
Socialism4All says
do you know anyone who has medicare? A parent, grandparent and are involved in helping them with their healthcare coverage. its a real eye opener. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.
Miles says
I’m in a hiking group with a bunch of retirees. Many have praised Medicare, and I have yet to hear one complain. They really appreciate walking out of doctor and physical-therapy visits without needing to pull out their wallets.

Silver! For Naples Italy!! Rolling on the train because it’s easier than flying!
Sam says
No kidding. Add up the time, doorstep to doorstep, and trains win out in many, many cases.
Not often in the US, however.

Carl Pietrantonio says
@Sam Trains in the USA suck. But I love the trains here in Europe. Yes, there can be strikes and stuff, but usually they are run super well.
@Anonymous I can’t. I would have to eat it before i got there.

NHL dentists – never thought about them! Interesting!
I try to be careful about using Airbnb. I think it’s easier to have scammers in some areas than others. But I still get nervous after reading articles like this! Though I’ve had a couple of hotels that turned out very sub-par compared to what was advertised too.
This is a very Monday type of Monday if you know what I mean! lol

I dont know about beeping the horn at someone after .76 seconds at a green light. But there are lots of people who are on their phone when the light turns green. It happens in my lane or a lane i can see at least 2-3x’s a day

A little late to the game, but if you are still looking for NYC Hilton hotels, I recommend the Conrad New York Midtown (formerly the London NYC).
