ON MY MIND
I did some research on the Virgin Atlantic clubhouses I will be visiting during my trip to Norway. I will be checking out the ones at JFK and Heathrow. After arrival at Heathrow I plan to check out the Revivals lounge. Whether I will be upgraded to Upper Class is still way too early to call. The folks at Virgin Atlantic have been wonderful to deal with so far. I plan to force myself to do a trip report.
You may see some changes in the blog in the near future. Mostly the look of it. This remains a labor of love and now it is starting to cost me money, all donated by me:-) Yesterday it was yet another high on page views, almost 1,500 which is insane! Thank you to all who take a few minutes out of your day to read me, I find it an honor. Please let others know if you like it, thank you.

MILES/POINTS
My Award Wallet balances went up yesterday by…just one: A visit to Starbucks. That’s just it, hate when that happens! If I keep this up I will lose my reputation;-)
As I was about to press Submit, I saw Milevalue‘s new post “The Best Credit Cards for Ultra-Low Spenders“. Coming soon to a screen near you, I bet, “The Best Credit Cards for Ultra-High Spenders” lol. Arrgh!
Checking daily AA & Club Carlson balances for the signing bonuses to hit. Definitely I don’t get tired by the sight;-)

How to Avoid Retirement Boredom. From the Wall Street Journal. Some fascinating responses. I like the last one. I quote: “When you discover what truly moves you, do it, and do it without guilt or reservation (assuming it’s legal). The saddest life is one spent doing what others expect you to do. The most joyous life involves doing those things that truly give you personal satisfaction.”
I always wanted to do something about my miles/points passion, maybe I found it with this blog:-)

If you have the time to watch this hour long video, it is a great video about the Europe Crisis. And you can empathize a bit about the depression currently underway in Greece:-(

I’d give a Best Of to FM for pointing out the money one passes up on in getting airline mileage credit cards when you could be earning cash back. I often forget about that, and do things like encourage my wife to use her AA card so we can build enough of a stash for an explorer award. Good reminder, FM.
And Not So Best Of to all of this morning’s “People often ask me what the best sign-up offers are/People often ask me what’s in my next/last app-o-rama” link dumps. Cala a boca. No one asks you that. Do penance by directing people to FM’s affiliate links.
To quote MileNerd: “These shrewd businessmen disguised as dorks will teach you the secret ways of making unlimited miles. Of course, none of this is actually a secret. They’ll also skip the lesson explaining how much money they earn from credit cards links. See, this is all business. You are the customer. The majority of these bloggers sold out their content long ago so they could make a buck.” Truth.
If it was about information only, MV could just link to Daraius’s page (series?) on credit card for high-spenders. Somehow I doubt that’s what’s forthcoming.
Good morning, George.

hahaha I really liked his original logo (Milevalue® Classic?) but then again I liked his blog better then, too.
