ON MY MIND
Wow, talk about a slow weekend in the travel by miles/points blogoshpere! Nada happened. Well, nada noteworthy of making it here, we like to think of ourselves as eclectic!
I can’t wait to pick up my Mercedes next week! In this hobby, you always need to be ON looking for opportunities and then acting super fast!

MILES/POINTS
Waiting to receive wife’s two AA cards. We will be calling US Bank to finally get resolution on her personal Club Carlson card. AMEX Premier Rewards Gold card is already here. She got the “cash only” excuse and all sold out in the first two tries for some vanilla ice cream, hmmm. We will be back.
In the meantime, I received 40k instead of 50k on my Citi AA Amex, which is weird. I sent a secured message and already received a reply that the 10k will be added to the next billing cycle statement! Still waiting on the other 50k and the 85k from the Business Club Carlson (and Gold status to finally get the 3 nights award booked in Stavanger, Norway). I made a reservation at one of the Radisson Blu’s just in case while I wait for the Gold status to hit my account. Yes, I could have status matched again but passed, I will just wait for it with the card.

I think we’re at the point in this hobby in which you won’t find new “tricks” that stay hidden on some marginal blog somewhere, at least not for long. If you want to discover new tricks, and you’re already reading ten blogs, you’re best off at FT.
I do agree with commenters on the previous post that perhaps outside-the-US readers are underserved.

I like reading travel blogs and this one really amaze me on how you can really fly thru cliffs,it wasn’t that easy though.Thanks for sharing this and I’ll surely always wait for your upcoming post.
George, you’ve gotten quiet about FTG. Stopped reading the blog? I’m tempted to. It’s gone to shit. Rick rarely writes now. Who are all of these guest and staff writers? They’re not the ones who the core FTG readers go to see. I want to know who IB is going to replace Rick with when he finally stops writing those once a week posts. They need another big name or the blog will just keep getting worse and worse!
