I can’t believe I put all this time into doing this. Just inserting the italics/bold fonts and spacing it all out took lots of time, let alone copying and pasting and coming up with funny commentary without any wine (ran out, my bad!). And to my friend reader Scott who is proud he never used an affiliate link all I can say is when I check out my cc and Amazon sites seeing nothing there is demoralizing BUT if I see something it gives me fuel as it makes me feel like this 🙂

I know how “Maldives” is supposed to be pronounced (rhymes with leaves), but I can’t stop pronouncing it the incorrect anglo way in my head. I worry that someday I’ll be at a points and miles gathering and not only will I be the only one who’s never been there, I’ll say it wrong as well. The horror!
Maybe we should all do that and it could be some kind of code.
Trust me, I’d be part of the club as well.
I have no intention of ever going there either. There’s a thousand other places on my travel to-do list ahead of it.
Yea, put me in the I don’t get the Maldives thing. Looks nice, but seriously, if I want white sand beaches Hawaii is only 5.5 hours away. I Don’t get the allure of the Maldives aside from a marketing perspective for the blogs.

Ok, re: MMS interview. He said he started collecting when he was 21 when he signed up for 40,000 Chase Sapphire Preferred card, worth $400! A couple of observations here:
1. How long has that been at 40,000 points? A year? Maybe two? so we have yet another “expert” wanting to share with family and friends who just started like a year ago.
2. He works in sales, shocker.
3. Is it even a blog? Looks like it just lists credit cards.
4. Finally, another perfect example of why friends don’t let friends use affiliate links. A comment in MMS interview “Great blog you got! I actually follow you already.” This is why you can’t pick and choose which links to use because there are too many idiots like that commenter.

@ Scott: Nice observations. We disagree on the use of affiliate links. If you don’t help the ones who try to do it right, they go away. They may go away pulling an OTR move. There is a point when they say “Phuck it, this is not worth it anymore”. And that is just sad.
I know we have gone back and forth a million times on this already, but why is that a bad thing? You just said two days ago you want to delete 350 blogs from your feedly. Isn’t this hobby better off if 90% of these so called experts went away? With all the daily posts we get from these people how many in a given day are actually worth reading? Seems to me the hobby and blogger content would be much better if 90% went away. So yea I’m good with that.
95% actually. BUT, if that ever happens (dreaming), I bet you the 5% left over would be the ones in the Ignore List as the good ones were chased away by putting so much into something for 76 cents per day (TBB haul on Saturday) #winning #morelikelosing 🙂
Maybe they would go back to being good. I remember once upon a time that FTG, TPG, and MMS were actually pretty decent blogs.
