This is going to be a very short post. It is Saturday, consistently the day with less traffic.
Please rise for a moment of silence for the demise of SkyMall. It will sure be strange not seeing the attractive catalog with superbly useful products for sale:
Expedia bought Travelocity for $280 million. I don’t know about you but I haven’t visited Travelocity in a looooong time!
Mrs. TBB received the Citi/Aadvantage Gold World Mastercard finally! Targeted for 50k AA miles for first $1.5k spend and then another 10k after $5k spend. We have had amazing success being targeted in the last 12 months for juicy promotions. I have no idea why but I like it!
I finally sat down to gather my free hotel night certificates. 2 in Fairmont, 1 in IHG, 1 in Hyatt. No idea where and when these will be spent.
Trip Advisor’s Traveler Choice Awards for the top 25 hotels. Interesting choices…
Here is a new blog: Thinking Big With Miles. Appears to have some talent in writing and can be funny. especially the About Me page. Good luck George. Don’t whine if the dinero is not enough to keep you going. And go ahead do that MMS interview you know you want it! I added you to Feedly. Not many make the cut. This is my response to your email by the way #multitasking
British Airways gets embarrassed by a “filthy and disgusting” First Class seat. I don’t get into this stuff but oh man this is really bad!
Ok, gotta run!

That TripAdvisor list seems pretty OK to me. We spend 20 nights a year at Dar Al Masyaf in Dubai and, with kids, it is an amazing place which also satisfies adults. I know enough about about 1/3rd of them to accept why they may make it – NOT in terms of best combo of service / food etc but in terms of having ‘something special’ about them.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah, out of so many lists out there, this one appeared to be pretty decent.
We are special in our own ways 🙂
I am thinking of blowing some miles in November to come to London to watch the Detroit Lions NFL game at Wembley. Starting game time….9.30 am WTF! Darn US TV audience.

When was the last time she had applied for a personal AA card??

Hi from Panera. I don’t remember exactly but it has been a long time. Over a year for sure. Must be around the 18th month mark. Been very quiet with Citi in our household after going heavy in recent years. And I am still pissed off I was rejected for a Thank you card well over a year ago, my first card rejection EVER in my glorious churning career. I just jumped on the targeted mail app for my wife which was ending the very same day..hey procrastination is alive! Instant approval for her, $25k credit limit.I must admit I was very anxious waiting for the screen to load! I have not had any offers from Citi myself in a very long time, I think they don’t like me at all over there.
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
Rejected by Citi? That’s gotta hurt.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I am still distraught by that experience. How could they reject ME? 🙂

FM had a post about his MS strategy. The comments made me shake my head.

Of the 25 hotels, I see one bookable on points: 10. Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Urubamba, Peru. Relative bargain at an SPG category 5. Off to write the blog post now, so please HT me if you read this and blog it!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
yeah, good catch. Anyone stayed there? Is this convenient to Machu Pichu? Sure looks nice. Any reviews you have found from our brothers & sisters? 🙂

That sound you hear is the drops of liquid crashing to the ground, as the world sheds a collective tear in memorandum of Skymall.
So this is what it feels like, when doves cry.
