ON MY MIND
Well, it is not a great way to start your day getting a call from my mother informing me my first cousin (same name!) passed away the night before. There were three of us with the same name and I am the only one left, kind of spooky if you ask me! We all used to play soccer together as kids. I made it for the funeral for the other one but I can not make it for this one. Very very sad. Life reminds you how fragile and precious it is. And life must go on. I really appreciate all the kind words on twitter and the emails, thank you.
This will be a short post. I guess I am becoming even more eclectic or…lazy? 🙂

I find it amazing that bloggers push all kinds of Chase credit cards with headlines such as “New Q2 Chase Freedom 5x Category Bonuses”! Boo!
Well, it is now known that Mr. Pickles bought a bank and is now in the process of a mega assault to promote the affiliate links of its first credit card. There is no reconsideration department, they all get approved, hooray! As always, very innovative stuff and out of the blue or red or whatever. This writing reminds me of a lost friend…Points Envy? Hmmm. And I always thought he looked Kazakhstani as Very Good Points revealed his identity!

My sympathies on your loss. I recently lost two very dear friends quite suddenly – one in November and one in January – and it really does shake your world. Kind of like the earth shifts just a little, never to be the same.
On other topics, I for one am glad that April Fool’s Day is behind us. This is my first April Fool’s as part of the miles n’points community and I fell for too many. My other worlds don’t really do April Fool’s so I was totally unprepared and still gullible even after the first fool. Next year I think I’ll take a day off from reading blogs on 4/1.
BTW I hear Mr. Pickles is buying some cruise ships – apparently Carnival has decided to downsize the fleet after the recent, shall we say, unpleasantness, and he saw a good opportunity. He’s also buying Home Depot to assist him with cruise ship cleanups.
