NEW: In the month of December I am also posting on Tuesdays, in addition to Fridays. These will likely be a smaller version of the longer Friday posts or, starting today, posts with links to Best of Annual lists, something I have been doing almost every year in the past ten years. TBB evolves but yet someway somehow remains the same lol. I am also back in Greece so finding the time to blog is now very difficult so we’ll see how this develops in the next few weeks. If I miss a day please ask for a refund…that was a joke, this blog remains free!

Life can be tough for some male spiders looking to reproduce because it can end with them being eaten by their mate in a practice called sexual cannibalism. But the males of a species of orb-weaving spiders have figured out how to avoid this grisly end: energy stored in their front legs lets them catapult off a hungry female in a split second.

George, I hope you enjoy your time with your mom in Greece over the holidays! My mom fractured her hip Thanksgiving week but she finally gets out of the rehab center this Friday and we’re all grateful for that. The travel nerd angle to all this is my AA miles have been useful in some last-minute flight purchases.
Enjoy your time in Greece. I’m also HNL based and have to say the weather has been wild here past week or so. We have a runway view from our apartment and it’s been interesting to see the flightpath they are on compared to normal. Ha, why would you son want to leave here where you can survive with an entire wardrobe that only requires 2 pairs of shorts, 3 shirts and a pair of flip flops and trade that for having to wear grown up clothing on the mainland.
