This is pure gold found on Reddit. A Card Recommendation Flowchart. Great tips! Now watch how some of the pimping bloggers will mess it all up adding their affiliate links…
Good rundown of them all currencies out there: Miles vs Miles vs Points vs Points.
The devaluation news of the day came from Singapore Airlines. There goes the 15% online discount (amazing this lasted so long!), award prices in own flights went up and no more fuel surcharges (give me a hooray for this one!). I need to make up my mind what to do with the Thankyou points I have…I was leaning towards transferring to Singapore but still wavering…
La Quinta does it again, giving away 500 points for hooking up on social media. Hey, good to extend the life of your points…I think.
March 1, when both Hilton Honors and Hyatt Gold Passport World of Hyatt Hurt changed significantly…No worries, pimping bloggers will still do cheerful posts and try to sell you their lifestyle and of course credit cards!
The really sad story of the drug addict who found $1 million on the street and became a legend.
More Americans Live In Fear of Retiring Poor. Look, you need to start. Now. The sooner the better. At one point you won’t have money coming in. Quality of life could be enhanced if you don’t worry about money so you can…worry about more important stuff!

If you wanted to get some data points on what the new Hilton Honors program is all about…It’s mostly bad but it could be good if you go there when nobody else is around I guess.
If you book travel on the Chase travel portal, and you have a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited card, you can get 10% cash back.
Just like Ingy, his disciple Rene has been obsessed by my blog since Day one. I have had the honor of receiving lawsuit threats by him for crap you wouldn’t believe. So, apparently he jumped on the opportunity in my first censoring event and immediately updated the wiki of a long dormant thread on FT. He is the only one updating as it is clearly so obsolete. It’s weird. Stuff he does makes me shake my head all the time.
I don’t know why Hyatt would not reach out to me to offer me Globalist status. If it did, I would give it away to one of you. And still not shut up speaking my mind. So there!
I wasted two minutes of my life for you! I could be promoting my blog’s email subscriber list, updating its Facebook page, its Instagram…oh wait I don’t have these. I do have an email subscriber list and I have not logged into Mailchimp in months. But these guys get it out at 8 am once a day like clockwork! Thanks to new hosting provider, screw you GoDaddy…was missing half of those emails going out with them, wtf! I guess I am addicted to pumping here…I just wish sometimes I could up pump my Feedly…ok, this is bad…I need to cut it off right here and get some sleep!
And I leave you with this…No comment.

I am not a bot! (or am I?….) Would a real bot tell you he is traveling again for the weekend and can’t pursue the gold again till Tuesday?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Now messing with us whether you are a bot…
Wide open you guys until Tuesday, here is your chance to feel like…ScottCastle!

The man the myth the legend…the bot lol

Thinking of giving away a prize on a day that ScottCastle is not working AND somebody else beats him to First…
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
Has anybody blocked more people on Twitter than Rene has?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
No. No way. Nobody comes close! PROUDLY π
Scott Castle says
My proudest (and only) block. He actually blocked me the day after I started following an account he doesn’t like. I mean, he proactively monitors another user’s followers, and then blocks people that follow that account? Weird.
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
Ha! That’s hilarious.

“I normally donβt post my flights like this because there are dedicated HATE sites about me that try to cause problems.”
Ryan says
He did the same to me after I followed an account he doesn’t like. He blocked me the same day! Creepy. Guy must have no life. Kinda sad really.
Ryan says
Good post on the miles comparisons at Running With Miles, which also had one of the better, balanced posts about the Amex Platinum changes (as did Rapid Travel Chai and DoC) compared to the zealous excitement about the changes on VFTW and some of the other usual suspects.
I like that SQ is eliminating fuel surcharges though hate to see award prices go up. All in all not too bad though compared to other enhancements.
I don’t even try to compete with ScottCastle as I know I’ll never reach such great heights of consistent gold goodness. Best of luck to the other competitors for the next few days!
TBBTheDude says
“Zealous excitement” – Hey, it sells more shitty Amex Plat cards that way!
If all devaluations were like this one from Singapore Airlines we would all feel much better π
Brenton says
The singapore thing is more of a revaluation, right? They call it a discount upfront, then no one can really be upset when they no longer offer the discount. That’s just good marketing.
That being said, it made my decision easy on whether or not to hold out for a waitlist in SQ first from Dubai back home via SIN, ICN, and LAX.
That would have raised it to 130,000 miles plus ~$200/person instead of the 57,500 to fly Swiss and SAS business home that I booked last night.
TBBTheDude says
Nicely done Brenton.
You are welcome Dustin. Oh wait, that was for Ryan.
Dustin says
Also thanks for linking my article! It is much appreciated!
Dustin says
Thanks Ryan. I appreciate it.

BREAKING:
If you have and/or plan to use Alaska miles do it NOW.
God Save the Points is bragging about buying miles (HURRAY ends 6 April even!) and cashing in for Australia. Originally published in the Sun, reprinted in today’s NY Post.
For the love of Zeus why the fuck don’t bloggers keep their fucking traps shut?
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
That is all…

Speaking of not drawing too much attention…

TBBTheDude says
Oh man…Not going to draw attention to that blog here. I agree with your comment there. Another wanna be Titan over at Boarding Area it appears. And no, this blog is not in my Feedly!
TBBTheDude says
Because it increases clicks which can them monetize?
That BLOG is, well, SMH.
TBBTheDude says
Why no one is calling out View From The Bank Suite when he repeatedly pimps the Amex Platinum 40k card huh?
DoC would have been in the Love Blog list a long time ago if he stopped linking to the pimping machine who just loves selling the 40k card. Benz anyone?
I was going to link to the RTC post but skipping it…too much love for Titans, who get special access, for selling shitty bank offers.
And the ongoing Rene weirdness continues, smh.

So true. DOC is the best blog in the world for the last 2 years. But his linking to everyone with no principles is annoying. DOC = the kid in school trying too hard to be friends with everyone. The other kids call him whimpy.
Ryan says
DoC doesn’t need to link to the Titans the blog is great standing on its own…one day he’ll realize HE is the cool kid not those poindexters!
Rene is obsessed with you in a creepy way. #stalker
TBBTheDude says
Good one Anonymous π
I just hope after DoC gets bought out he turns around and buys TBB for a fraction of the haul he sold out for. So I can finally go on to bigger and better things…llike burning some of my stash lol.
ABC says
@ PedroNY,
Will you change your churning strategy now that the annual Amex Platinum “enhancement” fee will be $550.
TBBTheDude says
Well, my wife is saying goodbye to her personal Amex Platinum, already extracted $400 in credits….and she is too lazy to do her Global Entry thingie…oh well, no Centurions anymore for her lol.
PedroNY says
I signed up for all versions, multiple times. At this point it is just Dec/Jan $400 travel credit pickup for each card.
Cheers,
PedroNY

A deal for Nick @ Personal Finance Digest
Ask your family members to join match.com. The membership fee will earn you 150 Avios per dollar.
http://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/2017/03/02/double-avios-shopping-buy-miles-67-cents/
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
Considering it, that’s not a bad deal at all. Though I just got 162K from Marriott, will have some more from my MR points, plus we’re due for some BA card sign-ups in a few months.
TBBTheDude says
When deals like this hit the Titan blogs…I sense it may not end nicely…
Good luck to all.
Have enough Avios I can’t use, no thanks. I am keeping my cash.

I need to close my Citi Premier card and trying to now figure out what to do with the miles as well. What are you pondering George? Would love to hear your breakdown of options you’re considering. I’m debating 3 choices
1. Sing still isn’t all too bad. For *A awards as well
2. Jblu looking like a decent option now with the bonus. 1 TY converts to 1.2
3. Flying Blue is nice for their promo awards from N. America to Europe, which I love cuz they consider Israel Europe!
Btw I call dibs on the Globalist status that Hyatt is gonna give you (I bet by Friday) to give away π
TBBTheDude says
1 or 3. I think JetBlue only flies to Boston out of Detroit last time I checked…and then not many destinations out there. Plus the transfer ratio, even with the 50% bonus, still sucks.
I am letting this one go down to the end…I may get wife a ticket to see her old college girlfriend who recently moved to HNL..
Anyways, I am bored of the miles/points scene lately. I am going to hibernate and count down to when I get a CSR and/or Ink Preferred…

Greetings TBB and readers. Please excuse me for not responding when George wrote about the Brooklyn Reality Tour aka BRT. George was nice enough to post a report (8 months later) π The thread is posted on Flyertalk in the Community forum.
Not that anyone cares, but I’m in the middle of my busy season, and haven’t had the free time to enjoy a blog I read!!
One last thing… Last. π
PedroNY says
Almost last.
Cheers,

LMAO
I did this for a few days in a row (though at like 2pm PST) and King George wasn’t thrilled π
TBBTheDude says
Last…lets move on to the newer blog post, shall we?
Sam says
Hey Buzz-
i noticed that TBB is higher up on the Mile Feed page than Renee’s blog. Do they stack based on popularity, quality or both?
TBBTheDude says
If I say something here, he would be back boasting about how much his blog has grown and how much higher his Alexa rankings are so…I ‘ll pass π
