Back in Michigan! I enjoyed the somewhat boring Superbowl 50. Very disappointed by the halftime show (not surprising) and most mediocre ads. And then there was the #puppymonkeybaby that would haunt us all for a very long time!
TBB is primarily a blog that curates the best blog posts among the sea of so many blogs! Always was and always will. Brings you the buzz. Hopefully with an entertaining spin…depending on own mental state at the moment. Aiming to educate and inspire as well. Of course the entertainment element comes with adding own spin with a heavy dose of snark. When there is something to say and there is time to get it out there…it will happen. Someday.

I hate it when I didn’t know that when that column titled “Bet you didn’t know that” is posted. This time it was about the receipts from rental cars for tolls. Another “great” practice by them.
If you ever wanted to know how different the travel rewards credit card environment is across the pond in the UK, this post may be for you. God Bless USA! Banks too ๐
Since we are on a plastic fix today, how about where all this plastic usage is going in the future. As in how we get to use them. Ok, think: Paying with our hands, preorder cash, cars, fridges, assistants and bots. Not sure about you but….preordering cash sounds very appealing to me ๐
21 Gorgeous Overwater Accommodations. TBB question: “Which one would you like to have sex in?” Hey, we are not a lame blog asking lame questions to generate reader interaction and page views and earn money from ads…Because my blog has NO ads revenue. Period!

TravelBloggerBuzz says
What, u expect extra points for having read it AND commenting first? Well, okay then…
Disappointed Panthers Fan @ Personal Finance Digest says
Sigh. At least I’m not a Lions fan or a Browns fan though.
Don’t know if the blogs are thinning out, but the material sure is.
Charlie says
Was a slow week for sure. Sorry about your Panthers but you guys gotta get Newton to grow up a bit more! From watching his play all year, it sure seemed like he kind of checked out sometime in the 3rd quarter. His posture, his approach – just seemed resigned.
Glad to see Peyton go out with his 200 like that, though. Nice ending to a tough year.
Disappointed Panthers Fan @ Personal Finance Digest says
I really can’t fault Newton for this one–this is the most I’ve seen him get beaten up since he got drafted. All credit to the Broncos coaches and players, they played exactly the game they wanted to.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think the Denver Broncos defense was the best defense by far recently. Even better than that other thuggish team with Ray Lewis in it ๐ (taking shots back at PFD).
Newton was not smiling much yesterday. And how he walked out of the press conference. And how they went for two against the Cardinals at the end of the playoff game. Arrogance supreme. I think being a bit more humble may be good for them. I think they are good enough to be back, I am sure this kid after he grows up a little he will be back in this stage.
Manning is one of the classiest guys in the NFL’s history. To go from getting booed to getting healthy to win it all in his 200 game…wow. What a way to end the career.
One day before I croak I will go watch the Detroit Lions in a SuperBowl. #Ibelieve #restorethemeow
harvson3 says
Then that’s a low bar. Peyton Manning is an obnoxious pitchman for shitty beer and shitty pizza, and a primadonna.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyton_Manning#Sexual_harassment_allegations
Granted, it’s a business that has lied and done almost nothing about the fact that its product leads to lifelong injuries and early death for its employees, so maybe Peyton Manning is the classiest you get.

#Yea, football.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I would not let my kids play football, that’s for sure!
In a league like this, he does have a good reputation.
But I lost all respect for him because he pitched…Budweiser ๐
Raffles says
The bit you missed from my article (thanks for the link) was my PS – it looks like Marriott had to pull its UK credit card because it forgot to apply for a credit broking licence, which takes at least 6 months to issue.
By the way, I have an identical licence. I’m not sure what licence you hold for financial planning, George, but imagine if every who even discussed credit cards – irrespective of whether they get paid from them – had to be similarly licensed. (They are giving financial advice after all.) That is the UK position now.
Raffles says
Should save read ‘imagine if every BLOGGER who ….’
TravelBloggerBuzz says
The UK position is much better in this. The state of regulation here is abysmal. Don’t get me started!
Raffles says
According to the (London) Times today, you need to do 70 hours of training in the US to get a licence to shampoo someones hair in a salon. Even packing a box in a warehouse or painting someones house requires you to be licensed.
(Obviously we don’t waste our time with such crap in the UK!)
So how can you offer financial advice without a license?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Because…you can…in the US.
For some reason offer debt related advice and a bunch of credit cards to anyone who breathes is, amazingly, NOT considered financial advice. Regulation here for investment advice revolves around investment products. Which is a bunch of manure but…we are trying to change it. Damn lobbies! #followthemoney

Ramsey on Sports says
Hey I’m just as glad as many sports fans that are also happy that Cam Newton not only lost but looked bad doing it (and post game too). I don’t ever think I have ever seen a football player not go after a fumble before, not the best timing to freeze up.
But watzup with Papa John and Peyton Manning making out in public like that on the field? I had no idea they were even dating. Then Manning pulls a Marco Rubio and says the exact same thing twice ( “gonna drink lots of Budweiser”), WTF? Marketing gone too far?!! It’s kind of like if Neil Armstrong when taking the first steps on the moon and instead of saying “one small step for man…..” he yells “Coca Cola !!!!”.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
On that fumble….notice the two linebackers behind strolling along like they were in their Maldives bungalow or something. Hmmm….
I was wondering who that guy was with the red shirt! You are sharp ๐
That Budweiser moment….actually they were two instances where he went all commercial….and haters bitch at me for pumping!
Mmmm pepperoni says
“But watzup with Papa John”
I don’t know anything about football or watzup with this Bouncy person during half time. But, watzup living in Colorado is a half price pizza at Papa John’s after the Stuperbowl. Manufacture that.

-Superbowl was superBORING. At least Beyonce and Bruno Mars were slightly entertaining.
-The article about travelling in your 20s: I have to disagree the points except the part about “Everything that you know as reality will be completely shattered”! But how does that make traveling “difficult”?
-Really enjoyed that link to the Vietnam War!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I thought the halftime show sucked even more than the game!
Not everyone will agree with the article on traveling in your 20’s. I thought it had some powerful arguments and I did not agree with some of them. It was…educational ๐
That Vietnam War link was just…mindblowing!

We had a very international crowd for our SB50 party at 10 degrees north — Brits, Canucks (one originally from India), Ticos, Nicaraguans and a scattering of gringos. Trying to explain “American football” (NOT to be confused with footie) to some of them was a real challenge. The outcome of the game was a surprise to those of us who follow such things.
BTW Buzz, one of the Titans has Amazon links to discounted gift cards. Guess the PUMP-PUMP-PUMP market is slowing and even Titans are trying to keep the some cash a-flowing, even the pittance Amazon pays.
Of course if I had a blog and a slave — er, intern — I might throw up my own links… ๐
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Been here so many years I still have trouble with this sport…like, what a catch IS ๐
I noticed the pumping of Amazon links….I guess this is what happens when you lose your Chase links…desperation. I may do it too a bit when I find the intern, awol again lol.

Just noticed that Mileage Update, aka Marathon Man’s site, is no more. Was this already known, or is it a new thing?
Plane2port says
Yes I did notice. In the same vein, what happened to the Miles Professor. Her website is still up but the last post is from 2014.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I don’t think Mileage Update has been updated for a while. Miles Professor ran out of gas, too busy in real work life. Unlike me….no comments please ๐
