Star Alliance MegaDO 6 – On Sale 16 Feb. 2015 It’s baaaaaack. Here is the Flyer Talk thread and you can follow the links to it from there. Prices seem more reasonable I guess than recent ones. But darn it, they do not include going to and coming from Europe. So, all of you who go have fun for me. I wish I can travel FOR FREE hehe.

Subways are not where normal happens A bizarre collection of pics in subways. WTF!!!
I made a conscious principled decision not to fly Delta back in 2012 (or maybe it was 2013), unless it was using my left over Skymiles and never burning more than at the lowest level. Why? Because I despise the company and what they did to Northwest Airlines and my beloved Worldperks. I swear the executives are evil assholes out to submerge us into extinction. So, you blogger who tolerates this and always coming up with excuses for their shenanigans….what can I say? And you who fake rage while you continue to sell Delta credit cards, well I think you are evil too! Why is anyone acting so surprised that Delta will be the first airline that goes full blown revenue based? I think I have been on record it will be here in 2015 which I later revised to 2016. Still on track. And this may be the beginning of the end for aspirational travel. I can’t wait to see Maldives blog posts “I spent 16 million miles to fly coach but I did it for FREE, click my links LOL”
So much outrage and attention seeking about that lucky blogger at One Mile at a Time who continues to push his parents into content material/pump mode for his business. The latest “event” apparently had to do with the loss of mother’s wallet…It is sad but, come on, who cares? She can get another one! What? Have another flight so soon? Must be a bitch! #sosad I wasted all this time reading the whole blog post #shootme. Here is my tweet which was kind of popular 🙂 “Just made mental note if I take mom for a trip not to ditch her.”
Put me in, Coach! Travel with Grant moves to Boarding Area! – Travel With Grant Grant makes it to the Boarding Area major leagues after proving himself in the minor prior2board leagues. Congrats! I put in a special request to slot him in between Delta Points and Points, Miles & Martinis hehe.
I warned readers here to avoid “deals” with 1800Flowers. Listen to me, I know what I am talking about, sometimes anyway.
Here is a sample of the crap that infected the blogosphere that would have never seen the light of the day if it wasn’t for, well, pumping links that compensate these businesses posing as miles “experts”. You see what my eyes go through so YOU don’t have to! <———— I added the exclamation mark without even blinking oh no!
Here is a last pic, LOL
Thank you for reading and supporting my blog by clicking the crap out of my $$$ links! By doing this YOU are taking a stand against Brian Williams and you are contributing to Jon Stewart staying on at the Today Show!

Well, Grant will fit right in.
And he’s trying to sell subscriptions on how to do “advanced MS” even though he’s barely more than a noob MS piker himself. What a hoot.
Andy Shuman says
For the record: I will tolerate everyone who flies me free from Point A to Point B. This is my personal policy that does not exclude Delta, Spirit, or a witch’s broom (conditioned upon providing sufficient recline).
I take it you have forgotten my live report from the Delta Board Meeting. I don’t know what all the fuss is about. Everyone knows that Delta cannot stay nice for an extended period of time. So after they improved the calendar and general availability, they had to do something to piss people off again. I’m sure it’s nothing personal, that’s just how they roll.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Managed to burn 25k for RT to San Diego and I still bitch about the $5 (or was it $10) in taxes/fees I gave these assholes!
Raffles says
If you look at the readership chart on Grant’s site, it is interesting to note that joining P2B did not cause an immediate jump in numbers for him and in general he has just continued on the trend he was already on.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
From talking with him the move there did have a positive effect. And the move to BA even more in the first few days. Key is the clicks are monetized now so there is some revenue coming in.
I like going at it alone, fits my personality. I do not fault bloggers at all when they join networks as there are certain advantages to it.
ABC says
The graph suggests that there are unique jumps of 20k readers/month, not a continuous m/m growth. Yapping about a few fat deals or MS techniques may have increased traffic.
Seth says
I don’t know about you guys, but this United mistake fare crosses the line for me. I’m not going to fraudulently declare that I’m from Denmark just for a free flight. I had an awesome itinerary all planned out and selected USA for my billing address and it repriced significantly higher. I’m sorry, I’m just not going to falsify my information like that so I backed out. Am I the only one?
guera says
You’re not the only one who has these concerns Seth. I was not in on this particular deal, but I had the same feeling about the multiple 100K AA Executive cards people were getting. I jumped on the offer and got the card. The 100k miles are long since gone, but I am enjoying the Admiral’s Club lounge access. I just couldn’t stomach the idea of getting more and more cards and cancelling the cards after miles posted and before the annual fee was due. I’m not criticizing those that did this (after all it’s Citibank we’re talking about here) but I just didn’t feel right about doing it.
Seth says
I am with you on the 100K AA deal too. It’s easy to get caught up in excitement reading these deals come across the blogs and whatnot but sometimes you just need to take a step back and think for yourself. I’m not criticizing the folks who got in on this deal either, was just a step over the line for me personally.
ABC says
What killed the deal?
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-02-11/united-airlines-offers-75-transatlantic-fare-in-possible-flaw
“Megan McCarthy, a spokeswoman for Chicago-based United Continental Holdings Inc., wasn’t aware of the fares when reached by phone Wednesday and said she would look into the matter.”
smittytabb says
Same here with the 100K AA card. Got one, kept it and was not comfortable with doing more than that. I booked the AA flight to Goteburg which was around $700 and did not get in on the *A deal using krona. Not sure if I would have been willing to do what it would take either. Good to know I am not the only one out there:)
TravelBloggerBuzz says
You are not the only one. In “mistakes” like this I can’t help but think it is some kid in his first job who made a mistake by omitting a digit and then a whole army of deal hunting opportunists jumped on it to…screw him up for life. To me pretending you are a resident of Denmark goes way past my ethics line.
Now watch all the bragging and all the frantic whining if United does not honor it. You know it’s coming, someone will bring up class action lawsuit.
Have seen the movie before…numerous times.
Now if it was Delta I may feel just a little differently (ok, this last line was a joke)
msmcmotown says
Sometimes the “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth” ethical code is appropriate, particularly when an individual in a vastly weaker position (read typical airline consumer) has to deal with a much more powerful and greedy corporation like United that has screwed them over time after time. I don’t need to recite all the ways that United screws its customers when they make “mistakes” (like getting sick or injured.) Perhaps today’s episode was simply a matter of karma.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Sorry, I am not buying that anymore. What karma is that? They won! (assuming they will find and cancel all tickets booked, doubt it). Some kid in a software company is probably fired and so many wasted so much time booking these. And so many bloggers got what they wanted, traffic while showing “expertise”…From what I know, this took a conscious effort to trick the computer to appear you are or live in Denmark. That is just WRONG! If some took advantage, fine. We are all accountable for our actions. I guess you win some and you lose some. I just don’t want to hear frenetic screams about it or, heaven forbid, screams of age discrimination or something cough 😉
Now if it was Delta LOL
Paul says
Equating an obvious mistake fare and having to book thru a Danish version of the website to signing up for multiple 100K AA Execs makes zero sense. Citi set the rules/approved the cards/gave the points. Not a mistake. Not an error. And it still works, albeit with much lower signup bonuses.
What’s the difference with multiple AA Execs than people signing up for multiple Ink cards, multiple BoA AS cards, multiple US Air cards, or in the past, multiple Amex? Answer = no difference.

These debates never end, come to the newer blog post 🙂
