ON MY MIND
I called US Bank and I was approved for the Club Carlson business card, hooray! I knew it was going to happen…I just needed to fight through the lady guarding the gates as I mentioned in the previous blog post! I love the smell of…CVS in the morning:-)
No Sunday buzz post, I need a break and need to count all my money from the affiliate links, thank you for your support, I sure appreciate it;-)

tnooz has an excellent post titled “What Crossover Rewards means for the future of loyalty programs“. I think it is a must read to see where we are going. This quote:
That second point – the ability to lure high value members from other programs – is the true glimpse into the future of loyalty. We see the role of loyalty programs evolving from pure customer retention to also include customer acquisition. As loyalty programs embrace their new role, we expect to see more promotions like Crossover Rewards.
Interesting stuff on loyalty program spinoffs too.

TRAVEL
Travel bloggers and relatioships? By Crazy sexy fun traveler. I really enjoyed reading this. She gets very personal and asks some valid questions. I see other singles in this hobby, some can’t settle down, they are always running from…something. I think what she truly needs is to come to FTU and find a real crazy sexy fun traveler man, one who understands her. And then she needs to add credit card affiliate links….ROTFL
This is a Hostel? From NYT Travel. Someone paid with a black card, really? I still can not forget the look of that psycho dude the first (and last) time I stepped into a hostel in Santorini in my high school years. I am hostel phobic:-)

Congrats on CC card! I am finally booking the hotels for my parents trip and while they are crazy expensive in Europe (50,000 to stay anywhere not near the airport…), the fact that I am getting two nights out of each 50,000 certainly makes the deal pretty sweet!
Talking about crazy (fun sexy traveler), Alexandra is a friend and is always very candid. I find your statement a bit amusing about other singles in this “hobby”… “running away from something”. I (and other long-time travelers) encounter this attitude day in and day out. It’s not a hobby. We don’t do it on the weekends or when we have free time on our hands. This is what we do. This is our life. We can’t stand spending more than a couple of months in one place. We need to keep moving, seeing new places, meeting new people, experiencing new things. This what fuels us. That’s what makes us feel alive.
To some it is having a stability of 9-5 job, 2.5 kids by the time they are 30, and so on. To each their own. I am not saying our way is better than your way. It is just different. We aren’t trying to run away from something. I frequently see travel bloggers having the opposite attitude – that the “regular” folks are hiding from life behind the 9-5 job excuses – I don’t have enough time to travel, I have to take care of my kids/cats/chia pets, and so on. But I do not think this attitude is right either. We are just enjoying OUR life on OUR terms. Others enjoy their lives on their terms. Everyone is different and that’s GREAT! Otherwise we all would of just been zombies (either 9-5 zombies or travel zombies, but still zombies).
I just happened to be reading a post from Nomadic Matt about “running from something” attitude last night (it’s an old post). Couldn’t help but chime in 🙂

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Please know that my commentary aspires to be satire. I absolutely agree with everything you said! I know how you and Alexandra feel, I really do! But I see this quite often…you can not have it YOUR way and aspire for “normal” relationships UNLESS: you find a soulmate who is into the same thing OR an understanding partner who lets you do YOUR thing. I think she can find that person in events like FTU, suggest it to her.
Yes, we are all different and unique. The more I am on this planet the more I realize that true happiness is…in the search for it:-)
Thanks again.

Haven’t read the blog in over a week . What happened to the hard hitting news and 1 two punches? I’ll get even by not using one of your links on my next app-o-rama.

DP found a way to try and squeeze something out of some Chase cards. He has to be the worst pimper of the BA bloggers. You can tell why bloggers start doing what they do and it is obvious why he does it. :td
