We are all suffering: The Discomfort You’re Feeling is Grief.  <—-Must read.

…we’re feeling a number of different griefs. We feel the world has changed, and it has. We know this is temporary, but it doesn’t feel that way, and we realize things will be different. Just as going to the airport is forever different from how it was before 9/11, things will change and this is the point at which they changed. The loss of normalcy; the fear of economic toll; the loss of connection. This is hitting us and we’re grieving. Collectively. We are not used to this kind of collective grief in the air.

…we’re also feeling anticipatory grief. Anticipatory grief is that feeling we get about what the future holds when we’re uncertain. Usually it centers on death. We feel it when someone gets a dire diagnosis or when we have the normal thought that we’ll lose a parent someday. Anticipatory grief is also more broadly imagined futures. There is a storm coming. There’s something bad out there. With a virus, this kind of grief is so confusing for people. Our primitive mind knows something bad is happening, but you can’t see it. This breaks our sense of safety. We’re feeling that loss of safety. I don’t think we’ve collectively lost our sense of general safety like this. Individually or as smaller groups, people have felt this. But all together, this is new. We are grieving on a micro and a macro level.

We are now entering BLOG BUZZ, a section for advanced hobbyists and veterans of this fast imploding hobby and also a section where I go on and on about some stuff that happens in my life because it helps me feel better about myself.

Travel/miles and points credit card sales bloggers are increasingly desperate as they are likely seeing their cc conversion numbers fall through the roof. We are used to seeing stupid pumpy headlines but lately they are getting even more ridiculous!

    Hope everyone is doing ok! And thinking about future trips when the virus clears. Working with refundable Delta miles makes it cheap to imagine possible futures.

    Glad you are enjoying time with the family. All mine is on lockdown as well but not here. Cabin fever is starting to be a thing, but the house hasn’t been this clean in ages!

    We could start a death pool for which blog the CV19 travel shutdown will kill. Will it be our own TBB? I checked out the headlines on a couple of the ignore-able blogs that I usually don’t pay any attention to: MMS and FTG.
    FTG is still trying, not very hard, but at least they have a mix of articles.
    MMS is just pure credit cards. Every one of their 12 or so most recent articles is just selling cards. No “lifestyle” or promise of premium cabins or travel or anything with a soul, really.
    With the probable drying up of CC conversions, I’ll put my dead pool money on MMS.

    1. Lisbon is beautiful especially in Sep-Oct. A short train ride along the coast takes you to Estoril where you can also enjoy the beach. Nice combo if ur traveling with kids.

    2. No homeless people in that SF video. How did they finally solve that problem?

    3. 1k COVID death in Italy yesterday alone. Some areas have been in lock down mode for 3-4 weeks.

          If you think that any government bureaucracy, politician or political party would have done any better with any of this crap, you just fooling yourself. Not Reagan, Bush (either one), Clinton, Obama, Trump, Hillary, Biden, Sanders, Chinese, Russians, Thanos, etc.

          Unfortunately, virii mutate, pandemics happen, people die. The circle of life isn’t going to be interrupted by some elected (or un-elected) jackass or party. This isn’t the first and is certainly won’t be the last. And now a word from our sponsor…

                I can only take reading yet another trolling comment about…Joe Biden (who I hardly mention…because I have TDS remember?)…But when I get emails from readers that they are bothered and don’t bother commenting…THAT bothers me.

                I am halfway through the Socialist Relief Act, I got better things to do than going back and forth here with your tired arguments and Ramsey who thinks Trump is God or something….unbelievable.

                So, take it easy, we are all dealing with this pandemic, we are all stressed. Just found out a client tested positive. And a blog reader’s father. And my MD client is, well, in the front lines and his family scared shitless. So please, use this time trolling here more productively and more positively. Maybe…start a blog so I can troll you there LOL.

    We won’t have to debate what Trump did or didn’t do. It is all etched in stone in HD video.

    There are already professional websites with easy to follow by-date depictions of what was done or not done, what was said, and the conditions that existed on that day. 15 going to zero or close to zero soon? Got it. Don’t dock the boat ‘cause it will make our numbers look bad? Right here. Anyone can get a test? Multiple angles. All of it laid out and it can’t be erased or explained away.

    You can run, but you can’t hide. Not for long, anyway.

    Ramsey was funny once—a ling time ago—but that sure changed. Now he’s a bore. Good riddance.

    If you won’t ban them then consider forcing people to post via a login, like WordPress.
