We pick the best comment gems of the past week. We admit it is a filler post, not gonna lie or pretend we are very proud of the work that was put into this. But, you know, this is all about YOU anyway once a week šĀ Let me hear it, anything goes in the comments, let it go…it will make you feel better. We love insults as they make us laugh. Be an original. By the way we thought about making a separate blog post about the IHG Rewards Pointbreaks preview list and then another one when it’s out but we thought it may be better to spare you all yet another original post lol.

From November 16 post TBB Gem Comments November 9 ā 15, 2014 & Twitter Fights:
We have readers recommend old hacking classic books…
Ramsey recommends āSteal This Bookā by Abby Hoffman, The Abby Hoffman the Vietnam War/Richard Nixon adversary…the very first hacking manual published…A must read for the kiddies
guera recommends “Another iconic book (should be required reading) was Edward Abbeyās The Monkey Wrench Gang”
From November 17 post Amex Small Business Saturday FREE Money, Delta Award Search Engine, Leaving United Airlines, Award Booking, Portugal, China Toilets, Siberian Crater, Fiduciaries
Steve: I didnāt think anything (not counting anything you might find on TPG, MMS or FTG) was more pathetic than Luckyās obsession with Hello Kitty, but Garyās investigative journalism on chocolate chip cookies just might top that. The latest incarnation was scone shaped. Someone should investigate whether they are affiliated with ISIS.
TBB: I am wrongly perceived as angry at timesā¦I donāt know why. If you saw all the blog posts that come through Feedly every day you would be insane not to marvel at the crap unleashed in da internetā¦I should ask for compensation, maybe send a question to Chris Elliott so he can advocate for me. HOLD.THAT.THOUGHT.
Bwahahahahahahahhaha

Raffles: “Iām waiting for your āTravel To Panera and Back in Under 2 Minutes With This Lively Timelapseā video!”
ZO: I just read MMSās new Friday interview, and I am pretty sure I just heard the sound of a massive bubble popping. Putting aside the instinctive gag reflex that I get when I see someone trying to recreate a mash-up of Tom Cruiseās Risky Business Dress Style and Gordon Gekko, this guy has been collecting points since, wait for itā¦ January 2014! [Insert massive eyeball roll here]
The reactions to this gem of an interview were priceless! Read on:
Scott: Iām pretty sure heās featured bloggers newer to the game than that. Either way, barf.
Adam: I wrote a comment for him to take it down. If Daraius is focused on capturing the noob audience he needs to do better at shielding them from someone who is MSing 50k in gift cards and giving next to No details. Itās dangerous and misguided not to mention the Staples info he referenced is incorrect! BARF
TJ: Yikes. Had to check it out, andā¦..yikes. They say they flew to their wedding in style, and show a (stock) picture of Singapore Suites, when they fly flew United to the Caribbean, from Newark, so they were actually sitting in a glorified office chair on a 737. For a 4hr flight. And get this, they paid Standard rates for āFirst Classā, 70K each, one-way. 280K RT for domestic first! That flight probably cost ~$1K with cash.
I think we have a winner for worst travel hacker interviewee.
MilesMath: I just saw that too. As much as a RT business class to Asia. Says he bought $34,285 in gift cards so 171 $200 GCs at $6.95 a pop is $1,188. Plus costs to unload (says he used Venmo so at least some fees were paid). Call it $1,500 for two standard first class tickets plus Chase probably shutting you down, so you can round down to āfree.ā
I was impressed when he said he flew first class 6 times in 8 months. I didnāt realize it was domestic first class!
This will be the perfect Christmas gift for TBB!
And one to dream…

The day smittytabb was First in TBB comments.
Mark that date! Historic! Congrats! You number #1, we are not worthy!
smittytabb says
Dude, this is the third time at least!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Just read an article about the effects of aging and I can definitely see how it applies to me š
Ramsey tip of the day says
good day for someone in your family to sign up for Amazon Prime free 30 day trial, and as always….use Buzz’s Amazon link
Ramsey says
Buzz I just got the go ahead from Mrs. Ramsey to use your Amazon link. Don’t fold up shop yet. I was using the Wounded Warrior link to support kids like my nephew (still at Walter Reed 2.5 years) but according to my sister in law, W.W. is not as helpful as advertised. They love another group called Trucking For Troops which has done so much for him and others like like him. The donations actually make their way to those kids rather than Admin., I thought it was important to get that info out.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Good info. All the best to your hero nephew!
Yesterday's post says
Buzz, you r dreaming with the links.
You have too few readers.
Alexa TPG 1900
Mms 4500
FTG 11000
TBB 61000
Declining readership, lousy payouts from cards offers, and who knows what this groups credit scores are?
Ain’t gonna happen
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Sure ain’t gonna happen if readers don’t help out!
Not like I lose any sleep amigo.
Sure is fun messing with ya all Titan pumpers.
I like my few readers just fine. I think I treat them right and not like morons.
Thanks for the updates in Alexa by the way, saved me a trip there. Last time I checked it was someone posting it here months ago!
I wonder how much the numbers will change if I enrolled int their service š
I bet this group’s score numbers are vastly superior to the ones from the blogs you mention where driveby/clickby victims get screwed up for life falling for moronic advice…7 travel rewards applied at once when you are looking for one cash back card anyone? Thank God for the barf sink!
Thanks for checking in again and being such a loyal reader!
Readers: Don’t let them pumpers win!!!
Yesterday's post says
3 hours per date writing posts x two years. U could have been a walmart greeter with that time and paid some of that tuition due.
And you’d think after three weeks of card pimping, if they were going to use you, something would have posted? You may be the first kicked out of that lousy network for lack of activity?
Fun to watch you though
harvson3 says
This is true. No one should have and devote time to a hobby they don’t monetize. People should instead take all possible leisure time and devote it to doing menial work for a terrible, terrible, terrible corporation. Thanks for your superb comment.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
So nice comment about walmart greeters.
>>>>>after three weeks of card pimping
Well, I guess there are pimps and then there is me LOL.
>>>>You may be the first kicked out of that lousy network for lack of activity?
A little birdie told me there was pressure not to be let in to the club, so classy again. Still trying to kick me out? Not that it makes too much difference anyway either way…
Thanks for the inspiration. It has been really fun to watch it all from a blogger’s perspective. Actually, it has been a blast! My writing has improved so much after I started blogging because I learned how to “let go”. Day job is doing wonders & it is all due to my writing…so thank you for reading and inspiring to keep going!
I clicked on Howie’s Big Crumbs link and not yours…just kidding!
Scott says
So I had to go back and re-read the latest MMS interview and in the comments the interviewee had this response:
“The online service Iām referring to launched in a Beta earlier this year, and seemingly stopped accepting new registrants. Itās still not charging any fees to liquidate, but you can only get $10k/month cashed out.”
Someone has to help me out here, is this kid an MS genius or just a fraud? What the heck is he talking about? Sounds like I missed out on something major.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Hmmm….whaaaaat?
Hey, statements like this can only help site traffic…
Sam says
Is the big guy really back? I just knew there was still work to do here.
11,000 people a day read FTG? Probably good people, hard workers, nice to their parents (enough on that for this week-Dubai, Dubai). Well, PT said there’s one born every minute. It is amazing how that ‘Jimmy the Grunt’ act wows ’em over. I imagine they’re all looking forward to going to the Super Bowl on miles and points, and maybe scoring a one way award to Europe on US Air before the merger.
Face it, Buzz, Menken was right. No one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the American public. And in the land of the blind, even a one-eyed man is king.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Sure looks like it…So fascinated about my little blog since the first time we dared critique (negatively of course that awful FTG blog).
>>>>>>>>Face it, Buzz, Menken was right. No one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the American public. And in the land of the blind, even a one-eyed man is king.
Sadly…so true so true.
I have lots of material and feeling angry because the Lions haven’t scored a touchdown since…well…can’t remember when!
Yesterday's post says
Ah buzz. Don’t be angry. You demean, criticize and personally attack others. So why shouldn’t you get a little of that back at you? Big difference is the big boys don’t use vulgarity in their posts, have readerships much larger (must be they are meeting the needs of the public) than you and have successfully monetized. But gotta hand it to ya. You’ve got them counting up to first five now. wow. great stuff. Winning the comment war as well, and offering secure credit cards and payday loans that nobody is clicking on, while criticizing others for what they promote.
Mission accomplished. entertaining to say the least.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yawn
icicle says
OMG. “Don’t use vulgarity”?!?
Gleff’s blog is one of the most misogynistic, patronizing things that I have ever read!!!
And Plucky, sometimes his humor is all-vulgar.
Oh, and I counter your meeting the needs of the public with this: sheep, uneducated sheep.
ARGH! Oh, and I’ve been personally demeaned and attacked on PMM- with my posts censored! WTF is up with that?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
All the blogs you mentioned are in the world famous TBB Ignore list š
Let me look at them for TBB reporting purposes. You ignore them…
I am still yawning by that comment….Zzzzzzzz….Same old crap arguments!
Matt says
Alexa scores are a load of nonsense. The score is based on the number of people who browse the site who have the toolbar installed, and the only people with the toolbar installed are bloggers (and related industries).
Though, the bigger picture is all analytic’s are bollocks. If you are a business you should monetize and worry about conversion data, but if you care about your readers, you can’t rely on analytic software or conversions -the best data you can receive is # of comments on a post.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
>>>>>>-the best data you can receive is # of comments on a post.
Thanks
Yesterday's post says
ever gone to the grocery store and tried to checkout paying with comments? Particiularly
when 50% of them you make yourself congratulating readers on their order of finish. Try using that MBA for something useful like online civility or maybe how to increase their credit score to 700+. Based on the date you have provided, seems that would be an appropriate and worthwhile topic š
It is entertaining watching the justification nation here at TBB.
Oh and I liked the all caps on the link to “CREDIT CARDS” . brilliant
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Thank YOU for being such a loyal reader & helping us fulfill our mission to entertain!
Another mailed in post, only thinking of yourself again? Six comments…OMG, I took a snapshot! Historic day at FTG indeed.
Thank you for teaching us all online civility by the way…
Matt says
Real readers engage- and for the record my alexa score is considerably better than FTG, I just realize that it is a worthless metric.
Yesterday's post says
Great metric 14 blogs do have a better alexa than one. Congratulations. Something to be proud of. 14 to 1.
Matt says
In case you missed every other comment I made about it – I am not proud of Alexa, I’m telling you that it is meaningless. I’m just clarifying that I am saying that from a perspective of having a ‘better’ one than your site.
It’s not something to be excited about, and I don’t know why people continue to cite it has having any value whatsoever.
TWA44 says
Just giving you one more piece of data š !
