I hope your holiday weekend was as glorious as mine! I did not feel like blogging at all, it was a great opportunity to catch up on all kinds of things and just enjoy laying back a little. Darn weather did not cooperate as much as we all expected here in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Travel Is Free gives us a nifty and complete map of Hilton Hotels.
Saverocity Travel has some deep thoughts about estate planning and the even greater impact it can have in our hobby with some of our “activities” to earn more miles/points. I need to make it simpler for Mrs. TBB…
Tagging Miles has some great thoughts on Manufactured Spending and Reselling. This IS dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing, beware! Excellent PSA type post. And you know TBB is out to protect newbies because, ya know, we were all newbies at some point. And I would never ever get newbies to apply for seven travel rewards cards at once when they were looking for just one cash back card like that Frugal Travel Guy site does, yikes!
At Saverocity Observation Deck we have several bloggers do a podcast about Chase and its credit cards. This is excellent information if you want to get up to speed on all things Chase and just catching up on the latest happenings (and there is ALWAYS something happening in our hobby which is a great contributor to how fun and darn addictive it can be!). I listen to the podcast while I am doing other things #multitaskingtitan
You can get 1,500 free Spirit Airline miles by bypassing the stupid videos at Post #1. Hey, free is free I guess.
32 Massive Parties we should travel to!
Mercedes and Lufthansa at it building the ultimate private jet interior! And this is when Titan bloggers salivate and immediately email their ghost writers to do another blog post with dozens of credit card links hehe.
Since you are almost over that amazing video with giraffes, how about looking at pictures of…penguins!
Those Italians again! They have built the Museum of Shit!

First, perhaps.

The Museum of Shit, is this a UNESCO Hertitage site? Shit dated back to B.C. and the Roman Empire or just the fresh stuff? I will put it on my next Italian Riviera Getaway Travel Guide. Grazie Georgeos, your pal and long time reader of TBB, Rick Steve’s Travel Expert

Georgeos, back in Greece when you were a cute little troublemaker growing up, did you ever light a paper bag full of dogie museum exhibit, leave it on someones doorstep, ring the doorbell and run like hell. HT CLIVE

Yes, somethings like that. Looking back, I am not proud of it but it was a hell of a good time back then!

This is just sad to read

“There are no free rides in this country anymore” said Kostas Bakoyannis, 37, the governor of the Central Greece administrative region.

“At the University of Athens, the country’s largest educational institution and home to about 125,000 students, the annual operating budget has fallen to €10 million from about €40 million before the crisis.”
How the fcuk do you operate UoA with just €10M a year? Have they been cooking the academic books as well? It only takes 200 Harvard paying students to cover that cost.

Yes, the article was very sad indeed. The place is in an even worse shape than when I wrote that piece about it a few years ago. The new guys in the govt are even more pro union and pro govt jobs…the shit that got it in this state of affairs after so many years, unbelievable! No more dinero left, they are realizing nothing is free…and it just has not been pretty on the ground…you heard it here first 🙂
Saddest part was the hospital manager’s job who committed suicide…so many doctors have left the country…it’s a slowly unfolding greek tragedy

Hey Buzz-
Do they have any cool items in the museum shop, or is it just the SOS?
