Some good info about Hyatt in this post: Borrowing Hyatt top tier status.
A complete guide to the Amtrak Guest Rewards program. Very relevant as there is a new Bank of America Amtrak card offer for 30,000 Amtrak points. BestOffersPatrol saw that and deleted the 20k offer from the list with the best offers available with my links.
Yesterday we posted about that surprise expansion announcement by Frontier Airlines. Cranky Flier is not buying it. Interesting perspective. I like this type of content instead of sensational farting incident click bait content coming from some of the Boarding Area blogs…For Michigan based flyers, please note Frontier will have a direct Detroit – Miami flight and Grand Rapids – Orlando flight. Time will tell how many of all these new flights will stick.
Wait, is there a theme here you guys with all these low cost airlines? We have another one joining the TATL arena, its name is Primera Air between Newark and London Stansted with plans to expand to Boston and Paris and Birmingham UK soon. More competition is good I guess. Watch them low low fares because, you know, they are NEVER as low as advertised in the end!
Waaaaaait, we are not done yet! Air France is launching JOON. Well, actually they are not going to be a low cost airline. Coming to you starting in August 2018. Lets make something clear what they are trying to do here:
Joon is especially aimed at a young working clientele, the millennials (18 to 35 year-olds), whose lifestyles revolve around digital technology. This new brand has been entirely designed to meet their requirements and aspirations, with an authentic and connected offering that stands out in the world of air transport.
You see that moving so violently? It’s my head. I do that when I go WTFing!
Private island for Romantic Retreats. These look nice…When they buy me out I can spend a week in one of them. Actually, since I have not been to the Maldives do I get to call myself a legit travel hacker huh?
UNESCO announced 21 new World Heritage sites.
1. Aphrodisias, Turkey
2. Asmara, Eritrea
3. Assumption Cathedral and Monastery of Sviyazhsk, Russia
4. Caves and ice age art in the Swabian Jura, Germany

Why I hate Adverbs. By one of the best personal finance writers out there. I LOVED the table of an adverb, what it ought to mean and what it actually does mean when we see it. For example:
Adverb | What it ought to mean | What it does mean |
---|---|---|
Actually | I’ve analyzed objective, long-term evidence to arrive at a fair conclusion | In my opinion |
Certainly | The probability is 100% | Maybe |
Love these pictures of badass furniture made out of old airplane parts!
Laibach is a weird band that dates back to my rocking youth days. I like weird stuff but these guys have always been a little out there, even for my own taste! So, when they are chosen to be the first band to do a rock concert in North Korea…well, what can I say? Weird is turned way up, WAY UP! I enjoyed the movie, especially seeing the North Koreans with their own WTF face expressions!

Are you coming to my party tonight in Ann Arbor? As we begin the festivities of the Ann Arbor Art Fair DO. 13th annual, wow! All the Titans did their first presentation here…Should I do a live blogging of it again? Oh wait, I don’t post on Saturdays. Or maybe I will just once #developing. Depends on the hangover lol.
So Citi and Paypal announced a partnership, you can use ThankYou points as a payment option…Like anyone cares, really? Same with Hyatt changing its Best Rate Guarantee to just $50 future credit from 20-% off, zzzzzzz.
Lending Tree acquired MagnifyMoney. Why should you care you may ask? Because MagnifyMoney.com owns MileCards. com. For $39.5 million. And this is why Ingy sold sooooo soon lol. Lets see if MileCards continues the high quality of their content. Sometimes I feel like the biggest moron in the blog land with everyone cashing in and me laboring away in sweat…and stuff like that. (WTFing going in the background…). Note:
MagnifyMoney makes the majority of its revenues from affiliate referrals from some of the products that it reviews.
Miles To Memories is hiring a part time contributor.
And I leave you with this. Hmmmmm….

Looks like Loyalty Lobby is turning into an asshole too…
>>>>>Jet Blue Ejects Family From The Plane After Their Toddler Kicks Seat Of Other Passenger And Parents Go On Rant
Why do they post shit like that? Because apparently shit like this generates A LOT OF CLICKS——->More blog traffic——->More advertising money.
While I am left alone here bitching and fighting the good fight starving…
Up since 4 am TBBing…
Could not sleep, got so many things to prep for the party…hope there is a nap in there later today…
Hi PedroNY, thanks man.
To aspiring bloggers: Go for the Kardashian type crowd if you want to “succeed”.
Dunkirk is a well made movie. I enjoyed it but maybe my expectations were a bit higher due to the hype buildup.

Late to the party!

As long as you can make it!

Bronze is still good. Was missing. Some NK post!

Looks like no Americans to NK soon, sad!
ABC says
Didn’t Miles To Memories just quit being a FM contributor?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yes…Hired DDG (Danny the Deal Guru) and now another one…Maybe he will be the one to buy me out as I am giving up on TPG doing it 🙂
Ryan says
Haha that hotel safe paper! 🙂
If I didn’t know better, I would swear the JOON article was an April Fool’s joke. Good lord, what are they thinking? Sounds like their marketing department sold management on the old “catering to millennials will make us so much money!!!!” bit.
I need some of that airplane furniture! Very cool.
Keep up the good work with the blog George!
Too much going on this year but would like to get up to the Art Fair DO next year.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I have the same feelings about JOON. I won’t be surprised if it never…takes off.
Thanks for the feedback. I doubt I have much left in me after almost five years…
See you next year then in Ann Arbor!
Kevin says
“Joon is especially aimed at a young working clientele, the millennials (18 to 35 year-olds)…”
How exactly is this going to work again? Most of the 18-35 year old’s don’t have jobs because they wasted 4 years getting a Transgender Studies degree from some 50k a year “university”, they can’t get a job and live at home with mommy and daddy spending their days playing xbox or trolling the internet… wtf AirFrance?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
>>>>>>>>they wasted 4 years getting a Transgender Studies degree from some 50k a year “university”, they can’t get a job and live at home with mommy and daddy spending their days playing xbox or trolling the internet
LOL…Duide, that was good!
Beat that Ramsey and MU (no more Nancy photos please!)
MileageUpdate says
I can beat it but the next photo might make you vomit on the spot. (actually it was a great comment by Kevin that Im not sure I could beat)
TBBTheDude says
Nothing will beat the big balls photo…nothing.
Kevin has a lot of potential around here, hope he sticks around!
Ryan says
Your comment has me cracking up!! 🙂

Bonjour. I just walked past the Hyatt Vendome in Paris, and got a little tingle of excitement. I imagine a Catholic would feel the same way when visiting St Peter’s.
ABC says
I’ve seen that excitement visiting the red light district on Reeperbahn. Where the Beatles learnt how to perform well.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I feel the same walking outside the stadium of my hometown soccer team in Greece…brings back memories…
Next would be the dispensary where I used to get my medicine…but lets not talk about that lol.

Day 4, BA still not showing AA availability. If you transferred MRs and happen to live in London, I would suggest picking a pitchfork and march to Speedbird Way, Harmondsworth, West Drayton UB7 0GA, UK, where BA executives will be delighted by your presence

SNL’s ratings about to crater…

Frequentmiler just did a piece on staying at the Pancreas Club. What’s next the Colon Colony, Sphincter Society or Prostate Palace?
TBBTheDude says
LOL, good one!
I just can’t do these hotel review posts. I find them so boring. What is tripadvisor for?
I am checking out 7 hotels in the Bay area…I guess I could easily knock them out but where is the entertainment factor in that? Maybe I can have a different angle #wondering
John says
Sean Spicer was fine with the lying and treason. But the organizational chart was too much for him. This is all so crazy.
TBBTheDude says
I had a client meeting yesterday. I started it out with this:
“This is not normal”.
Drain the swamp baby, out goes Sean and in comes in another hedge fund dude.
Don’t get me started, I am about to have a nice party at my place tonight 🙂
ABC says
Goldman Sachs running the White house as usual. That’s normal.
The French knew how to drain the swamp in the 1790s.
TBBTheDude says
I think Macron’s wife is much more attractive than Nancy Pelosi 🙂
Raffles says
Good luck to anyone after the Miles To Memories job. You need to answer this question:
“The miles/points blogosphere is quite crowded. How would your writing on Miles to Memories stand out from what is available elsewhere?”
And they’re expecting trouble:
“Sometimes readers can get angry. How would you respond to the following comment which was left on the blog: “You bloggers love to spoonfeed the masses and kill deals for clicks instead of actually creating original content.””
But you can write your own check (as I believe you yanks spell it):
“This position will be considered part time. While there won’t be a specific number of hours required, it is estimated that it will entail 15-20 hours per week. Some weeks may be more and some less. Based on that information, what are your pay requirements for this position?”
Jeremy says
Well, the writing would need to stand out because pretty much all that is posted on M2M is taken/ripped from reddit, slickdeals, and Doc. If they aren’t going to post anything original, I guess the writing would have to be the difference maker!
And they address that by pre-writing the comment about original content! It just doesn’t exist on that site anymore.
TBBTheDude says
Shawn is a very nice guy, wish him the best.
Two years ago at the Ann Arbor Art Fair Do at a dinner, he tried to pour soup in my cup…and oh boy, he just sucked at it 🙂
When it comes to BA blogs, always think——->page views.
If I was there I wouldn’t have to whine so much hehe.
Dustin says
Unfortunately, the Laibach in North Korea doc is only available on the UK iTunes at the moment.
TBBTheDude says
That sucks! The faces of the North Koreans were so amazing but not too different than many elsewhere having to watch this band for the first time. Think major WTFish mode 🙂

A great time was had by all who made it to my party last night. For many hours we ate and drank and did what’s really best about this hobby…the socializing!
I am moving very slow today…I woke up late (6.30 am) and thought about doing a live blogging of the Ann Arbor Art Fair DO presentations later but I don’t think I have it in me…6 days out of 7 blogging here is my threshold for now, thanks for understanding.
All I gotta say is tomorrow’s already scheduled post is a MUST read. You know I like eclectic stuff and tomorrow is WHAT I want to my blog to be defined as..the most eclectic mix of content in the land. I will let others specialize in farting incidents and 236 reasons they want you to get the CSP card. Even though there is infinitely more money posting that shit…Am I masochist? Why do I like to inflict pain to myself? Ok, don’t answer that please lol.
To all the people who made it last night, thank you. I really enjoyed having you all. May do it again next year!
