Faces of Mongolia. Seen at Just Travelous |
Some housekeeping: I added three buttons at the right side of the blog: 1) To subscribe in your RSS feed 2) To search in the blog and 3) An “About me” with a link to the TBB Google+ Profile. Next up? Affiliate Links (ok, that was a joke, I am still laughing!!) Any feedback appreciated…Do they work fine?
For an MVP post to appear here it must really blow me away! It does not happen very often. But I do challenge other bloggers to try it! If you do happen to enter my infamous “Not So Best Of” category, please try harder to improve, yes we all can!
I do read and try to respond to every comment. Sometimes I do not get to them all, please do not take it personally! I experimented today with the comment back end system and I think I may have accidentally deleted a comment or two. And I don’t see how I can get them back! It was NOT censorship, it was pure clumsiness in my part, I apologize!
Last day to enter the contest to win a $50 Marriott Gift Card!
Second day in a row I find no Vanilla Reload cards at my nearest Convenient Drug store. Come on neighbors (you know who you are), can you leave me some, throw me some bones will ya? 😉
BEST OF MILES/POINTS
Milevalue did have an excellent newbie targeted post on “How to Earn 105,000 Miles in the Next Few Weeks“. Well, I must admit that, if you are going to target newbie readers to your site and want them to start on the right path on this hobby…this IS the perfect way to get started! Kudos for showing them how to do it clearly and with the best/easiest non affiliate “zombie” links out there! If I was going to ever target newbies (this is a joke actually, please laugh) I would give them this advice! So, well done. Just be aware that the same can be done about that USAir offer ok;-)
TravelByPoints had en excellent post about how he went about booking a weekend trip to Hawaii from Las Vegas with miles/points. THIS clearly shows the benefits of this hobby. Although I would never ever consider taking along mother and mother in law with us…no way, that is going way too far;-) This is remarkably very similar “thinking” on how I go about burning my miles/points.
Cranky Flier has a great explanation how Southwest determines your Boarding Card number.
Hack My Trip has an excellent post on “Helping Family Travel Together“. Great suggestions on how to consolidate miles. I handle this easy for wife and two minor kids but but adding more relatives I can see this becoming quite difficult to manage! And do I really want my teenager son to go nuts with credit cards? 🙂
Loyalty Lobby reports on yet another hotel program devaluation, this time at OMNI Select Guest. Well, the previous program did not make me stay in one of their hotels and now this “enhancement” surely won’t!
Ok, it looks like another “enhancement” at e-miles happened overnight, judging from some comments seen on FlyerTalk. You know it is really bad when you see JudyJFLA say: “The new redemption chart just sucks….. 400 miles for a worthless $25 Restaurant.com gift card. Amazon gift cards at 600 miles per $10 card. I would have rather had the miles! It takes forever to get the miles, so at $10 a year, I don’t think I will waste the time anymore. The 500 Delta miles were worth more in my mind!
JudyJFL“. Yikes!
BEST OF TRAVEL
“The Faces of Mongolia“. From Just Travelous. Wow, look at these faces!
Nate of Yomadic has a new post, this time from Moncalvo, Italy. I love his content! He is the guy who featured that infamous pic of “travel bloggers” posing as whores in Poland. I think about it and I laugh:-)
Very Good Points has a post about her flight on that Hello Kitty plane! I have seen this plane before but I had no idea that there was a whole theme around this INSIDE the plane. Meow…
Hilton has a very creative marketing campaign regarding the great disease of “Vacationitis”. Love its “Urgent Vacation Care Center and its 14 Symptoms of Vacationitis” very funny pictures (created by the super funny guys at the Onion!”). You can get your vacation diagnosis too! (HT to tnooz).
15 Best Tropical Beaches in the World. Tel Aviv, really?
“The Oxygen Masks Came Down“. From Lee Abamonte. This happened to me on a flight from Narita to Detroit on a Northwest flight, it sure brought back memories! I left a comment in Lee’s blog post with details. What still stands out…is that it felt surreal, like I was in a movie!
NOT SO BEST OF
You can bet that this is a cruise I will NOT be on! “Coming in October: Another Lynurd Skynyrd-hosted cruise”. “I see white people” lol.
Ok I know you are all disappointed no more entries here! If you see any worthy of being featured here, please contact me at travelbloggerbuzz@gmail.com I do read & consider all info provided to me! If I do not feature it anywhere in my blog…do not take it personally. Maybe I will next time, it is all kind of an art:-) Or maybe the bloggers are starting to realize that pure sell sell sell/push push push/pimp pimp pimp type of posts without really offering anything constructive at all may be featured here and they all fear the incredible hit in their reputation and readership…ok, another joke, I am laughing!!
ODDZ & ENDZ
Ridiculously horrible Aeroflot designs, this is what crowdsourcing can do for you. (HT to Online Travel Review)
From the FlyerTalk “Mint” thread user lavag said: “The day I buy a Kardashian prepaid is the day I’ve lost my soul to this hobby..” – True wisdom, lol.
On Twitter Amol at PointsToPointsB tweeted ” Shared an elevator with 2 guys in Cartera Commerce jackets. Had half a mind to stop elevator and ask where my miles are.” – Ok, this is too funny, can’t take it anymore!!!

Your “Best of Travel” section is becoming my go-to read of the day, every day! Thanks for wasting another 15 minutes a day for me! Nah, I love it!
P.S. If I was in that elevator with the Cartera guys, I would have farted.
TravelBlogger Buzz says
Thanks for the kind words, reading & commenting, it is greatly appreciated!
I actually had the same thought as you letting a “silent but deadly” rip in exiting the elevator…but I am not that crude type of guy to write this in my actual blog post:-)

I visited many websites however the audio quality for audio songs current at this website is in fact wonderful.
