The very first time I saw a picture of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise with the magnificent lake and the glaciers standing up behind it I made it a goal to visit the place and have the opportunity to see that same view myself! Well, I am here and this view is better than it looks in the pictures! This is the view from our Junior Suite, we will stay here for three nights. I can sit here for hours looking at this and never get tired…
In the morning we decided to hike Johnston’s Canyon and then drove to Lake Louise from Canmore using the old freeway 1A. Very nice drive indeed! The highlight was seeing a bear with her baby by the side of the street. Seeing the super cute baby bear is something we will never forget!

Hi,
Plan on Monday was to go hiking but weather did not cooperate! So, we drove up on Icefields Parkway HW93 and did the Walk on the Glacier in the Icefields tourist thing. Kind of cool to walk on a glacier with ice thicker than the length of the Eiffel Tower! Then we visited the absolutely gorgeous Moraine Lake which almost rivals in beauty Louise Lake!!
