Wall Street Should Put All Clients First
I am sure you keep hearing in the news some confusing stuff about investment advisers, brokers and this fiduciary thing. Maybe this article above will clear things up for you. New week, new post.
Fiduciary is no longer a word and is now banned from use. As explained in a new executive order, there are two parts that make absolutely no sense to President Trump – the spelling and the concept.
Reminded me of 1984 novel. In newspeak fiduciary doesn’t longer exist! ( please please read the book if you are one of the few who hasn’t )
High school reading list. Sadly, much more relevant more than then…
Proud bronze. I just turned TV on to watch soccer and see lots of ads supporting cabinet and SCJ nominees . I thought the only good thing about election was that it was over and these ads would go away. Thanks for that Norway clip, helps coping with all this sh!t.
Trump’s team knows that only Democrats follow soccer. So this is a way for them to annoy….
.-) <— New emoticon for Trump supporters: One eye is closed
that’s an unfair way to talk about trump supporters. they have both eyes closed.
The fiduciary standard may lead to worse advice and higher costs. 401k plan sponsors are fiduciaries and most participants are invested in high fee funds. Employers hire consultants and advisors to shift their risk and reduce liability and those costs get passed on to participants. Best interests isn’t well-defined so a standard like this just opens people up to lawsuits and the high costs are a way of protecting against those suits. We want advisors to look out for best interests which will vary by client, but a fiduciary standard may not get us there.
Name checks
Hey S.A., your name sounds familiar, didn’t we meet at a lower west side glory hole recently?
Trump should be more concerned about Brazil than Chicago. More than 50000 homicides/year.
