We bring you an interesting article about Marriott loyalty, eat at an amazing airplane luxury restaurant, read an Anthony Bourdain bio, check out the new United Polaris seat, see how e-commerce is transforming Chinese remote villages, how to be an Amazon “best” selling author, learn about immigrants, check out the new Cathay Pacific credit card and not much more.

Interesting stuff again by Skift’s Deanna Ting: What Marriott Learned From Starwood’s Loyalty and Digital Experience. This scares me: “Going forward, Marriott plans to use artificial intelligence to anticipate exactly what their loyalty members want in their hotel stays.”
Fascinating what the internet has done for poverty-stricken villages in China! Here is Heze and how it became an e-commerce hub!
Excellent post on Anthony Bourdain!
This is totally absurd, how someone became a best-selling author in five minutes with three dollars. Only on Amazon!
The whole world is now trolling Trump with “America First” videos.
Airplane turned into luxury restaurant. In India! Can’t wait to see this everywhere now with no HT #sameold
Where US immigrants have come from over time. Very interesting.

There is a new credit card offer for Cathay Pacific. From Synchrony Bank. 25k signing bonus. Zzzzz…If there is an affiliate link out there, pumping bloggers will make it sound like it is an “amazing” offer again!
This is what happens when you put a churner in charge. Lol. HT: reddit
If every comment left here was a credit card conversion I would make ______ (substitute a Titan blog) my bitch.
Apparently United has introduced its Polaris seat. I mean, some people care about this stuff #avgeeks And some people work it to sell more credit cards π

Not happy with the quality of the last few posts. Two reasons: 1) There is not much going around the blogosphere, it is becoming super boring 2) Focusing on tax work to beat the identity theft scammers about to efile on your behalf before you do! Hello TBB,
Question totally unrelated to this post π Since you’re the Fairmont expert, I have $100 in vouchers expiring 2/28 and I’ll be at the Fairmont Kea Lani starting 3/2. I know I’ll get new vouchers on 3/1 and the central line said no extension because of that, but can I buy gift cards or something else with them that I can use during my stay? There’s a Fairmont nearby I can go in person to. Worst case, I have lunch or dinner there, but don’t really want to. Should I call the hotel directly (Kea Lani) and see if they can apply the vouchers now? I’d prefer to use $200 at that hotel than $100 at my local one and $100 at the Kea Lani.
TBBTheDude says
I am afraid you won’t be able to use them at Kei Lani, the ones expiring 2/28.
FPC can extend free night certs up to a few weeks…but have not heard likewise about the food certs.
I am not sure you can buy gift cards but you can ask. Plan to go to the hotel and eat your way through them. Before you do, ask kindly about buying gift cards on site instead. I doubt it but the worst thing that can happen is they say no.
I don’t think Kea Lani can take them before your stay begins. But, again, it does not hurt to ask. This may have higher success rate than the one in previous paragraph.
