Usually December slows way down in my real job. Not this year…
Lets get this party blog post started!
There is a new credit card available, the Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard. Signing bonus is 40k American AAdvantage miles. $95 annual fee not waived. Surprisingly, there is no minimum spend required. Should you get it? Warning: Award availability with AA just absolutely blows worse than…Delta these days, wow!
The news that “Marriott Rewards, SPG and Ritz-Carlton Rewards all to offer Double Points for Q1-2017” all the big bloggers copied first appeared in Frequent Flyer Bonuses, just for the record. Registration info in the link above.
The premium travel rewards of credit cards Chase Sapphire Reserve, Amex Platinum, Citi Prestige and Ritz-Carlton Rewards all offer road assistance benefits. But it varies per card and it is really hard to keep track of. Until now that is, here are Road Assistance Cards for each card. HT: Reddit.
This is Part II of the video about “Every Country in the World“. Interesting facts that is! #fascinating
Our Automated Future. How long will it be before you lose your job to a robot. For the youngsters out there, you should be thinking ahead about this stuff…
Do you know what is the world’s busiest air route? It is Seoul to Jeju, capital of Jejudo island in South Korea. And it looks pretty awesome!
Best twisted towers around the world
10 Best bathtubs worth traveling for. Hey, you can get there if you get this card (link) and that card (link) and that card (link). Ooops, sorry about that…guess it’s because what my eyes see all day…
And I leave you with this…

I’ll pass on the Aviator card. Looked for award space to LIM and there is not a single saver award seat the entire summer. Business, coach… nothing. Pathetic.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think smittytabb should start her own award booking business 🙂
Me too, got way too many AA miles and taking a break 5/24
PedroNY says
Thank you for your blogging! We like Barclays here, why not pick up extra 40,000 miles per account with minimal effort. JAL and CX award space is out there, even though it’s more expensive, so may as well get extra 40k miles towards that future ticket.
Happy Holidays,
PedroNY
plane2port says
I’m not going for it because it’s a pull for miles that I have an extremely hard time using.

I also closed out my BankDirect checking account.
ABC says
Because the bonus may shortly be increased to 50k?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
So PedroNY, you are taking a leave of absence from the best Chase cards?
I closed my BankDirect checking account some time ago. Its website sucked so bad, wow!
plane2port says
I sent a PDF of the roadside assistance cards to my email. Thanks!

Great idea, I added to my dropbox folder!

“How long will it be before you lose your job to a robot.”
Grew up in The Jetsons era. Question asked all the time — future bleak due to robots.
Fortunately no one has pumped the development funds for a robot to take my “job” — the ROI on a (semi)retired crazy ex-pat robot is very very low.

Am I the only one not having trouble burning my AA miles? I mean I flew Royal Jordanian in business on the Dreamliner with AA miles this year. I just booked Fiji Air to Vanuatu in business and Qantas and Fiji Air back from Australia in business. I have been back and forth to Europe multiple times on AA miles. Also flew to Chile and back in business on AA miles. I booked Finnair in business for next year. And to the Dominican Republic in coach. C’mon people!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I did not want to go there…I mean fly Royal Jordanian 🙂 Thought about doing that Fiji but time is in short supply these days and tax season approaching. Not sure how you find them…How many hours do you look?
Can you help? Trying to get my brother from GRU to ATH April 10-12 and return 2 months later in mid June. He is flexible, must be in Greece by April 15 at the latest so he can make it home to spend Easter with mother. Anyone? SKG is also doable instead of ATH.
smittytabb says
I actually don’t spend that much time looking. I use Expert Flyer and at least for Fiji space I booked each leg the day it opened up, so I had to be vigilant about when to call AA. It’s also on Alaska website, but they seem to have less access to it.

I hope ScottCastle did not injure his finger hitting refresh today to be first as there is no post here on Saturdays…
Will he sleep in tomorrow Sunday?
