I will keep this very light, you know, last summer weekend and all…We have a new Citi Thank You Premier 60k link and more!

You can support TBB by shopping with our AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK or click on the Amazon Banner on the right side, thank YOU!
The link for the 60k Citi ThankYou Premier card yesterday is no longer working but Running With Miles found another one HERE. If you see your favorite pumping blogger pumping the 50k card I just want you to open your eyes and realize they are doing it because they get paid good money for each approval. But you get screwed newbie. LIFE LESSON: DON’T GET SCREWED! If you got only 50k recently do THIS by Doctor of Credit. If link dead already, I am sorry! May I interest you in the Chase Sapphire Preferred instead? #titanicmove!
I had no idea we can send a secure message to US Bank to get them to give us that free hotel night e-cert for the mega devaluation of the Club Carlson, effective June 30. I did look around the US Bank website but I did not see it. Miles to Memories found the way to send a secure message to US Bank and shows us how we can do this, thanks!
An interesting and detailed reconsideration call exchange trying to get approved for the Chase Ink Plus card in the new 5/24 era…Gulp!

If being first means I have to be awake before 6am on a Saturday, then I guess I’m last.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I agree. But you can do it on weekedays!

I thought you were only going to post when you have 10 things to talk about? US Bank secure message button is very elusive, but like the Amex, it can be found!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Well, I thought I kept it light in this one….I feel so “I am not earning my clicks” when I don’t put at least an acceptable amount of labor into each post. I am not into “macadamianutgate” and “another TSA rant” type irrelevant posts as they do not appear to either educate or entertain or inspire, instead they waste readers’ times….TBB does not waste readers’ time, only my own to stick to the mission 🙂

Thanks for the reddit thread. I don’t read reddit enough, I need to start adding that to my morning routine. It is not like I am reading very many blogs these days.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I have avoided signing up for a reddit account as the last thing I needed was another time sucking activity lol.
But I follow this churning thread, lots of good stuff in there, especially the guides links on the right hand side.

I was going to post some comments yesterday and today but it is all off topic noob stuff, so just want to say thanks for blogging !
One thing though, about the Amex platinum business card, I read somewhere about setting up a website with a business name on it being a magnet for jumbo bonus offers. Didn’t I ? Not sure if I could keep track of the incentives for making back the $450 fee. I know it is easy but I need to get more clear on it first.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah, you read that right recently!
I recently finally used up some of the Southwest airline credits with the $200 Amex Platinum airline credits…Yeah, keeping track of the bennies takes some work but it’s not too bad.
Silvio Berlusconi reporting from Italy says
Signori Buzz, did you have to buy SWA credits in $50 per order/ to have it reimbursed?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I went in for a $200 gc, success. ymmv
There is an FT thread that keeps track of what airline “credits” are good for with latest data points

OK here’s another question.
I follow Fare Deal Alerts, ie. get the newsletter in my email.
What are the other main and best ones to follow ?
I never seem to see any first/biz class offerings but a friend got a trip to Brasil recently in a mini price war, traveling first class, woohoo ! LAX to RIO Direct non-stop $1385 Round trip.
While we are on the topic, how about the websites that purport to sell international first/biz seats at steep discounts.
Eg. Flywithclass, 1rst-air, cheapfirstclass, and so forth. Some say they are “last minute” tickets. It seems like I had seen some others in the past but not so many now. (I wonder what happened to them, or were those I saw based in Australier?) They are talking in the range of $2500 – 3000 biz class to Europe from the US. Good deal or take a pass ? Do they deliver or just a come on ?
Also, I see them on Craigslist, flights out of LAX. Then the ones selling FF miles (not that good a deal?).
The one fare alert email/twitter I get, it is just from the US. I think I will sign up for Volaris which flies out of Tijuana, they have these incredible cheapo deals to destinations all over Mexico, eg. 1000MXN ($69USD) round trip to anywhere they fly. Just need to sign up for their club which is like $49 per year, which I can handle.
Then there is Aero Mexico, that’s the one my friend took to Rio from LAX. I don’t see them on that alert think that I get either. I don’t remember seeing LAN, but I could be mistaken about that.
OK just rambling here and thinking out loud, trying to get a handle on the different angles.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I told you this before…Follow #theflightdeal on twitter or bookmark their site and check often. Nothing else comes close.
I am not doing paid F trips and not flying to Europe to take advantage of F “deals”, not my thing.
I would avoid Flywithclass…sounds not classy at all.
