Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!
I found some time to update my Disclosures page finally. One day I will finish the Greece trip report from June 2015 and even update the About Me page.
I am very proud of this.
Actually, this milestone was much earlier as I wasted several months using Blogger before I moved on to WordPress.
If you go to Oahu, there are some really good suggestions HERE.
Electric cars are now common. All-electric airplanes are coming!
10 safest low cost airlines in the world. No crashes…ever!
Networking sucks. Because people don’t give a shit. Oh, this is great, so true!
Personal Finance fix of the day: Say ‘yes’ to the financial adviser who will tell you ‘no’.
The biodiversity in the Amazon is just incredible!
Is this the next frontier of miles bloggers? Sell credit cards to drug addicts to buy meth? Lol.
The 19 most expensive buildings ever constructed.
BLOG BUZZ
Ok, we are back with this section. Which will be at the bottom of each post before the amazing pic/gif. TBB reviews blogs and curates the best content for you. Also, TBB spends so much time in this blog space and then people tell me stuff I think you should know, it’s all about the mission to educate, entertain and inspire. As bloggers we put ourselves out there and if you can’t take the reactions maybe blogging is not for you!
Another memo at CVS it appears is out, mentioning cash only. Whole lot less CVSing to be done if true. Short the stock hehe! #notinvestmentadvice!
This link at reddit reveals two interesting things:
One comment by taxmandan who said this which I found very entertaining: [TPG and MMS]…They are the Wells Fargo branch investment advisor of the points world. If you want better results, you go somewhere else.
And another by doctorofcredit who revealed his blog had a buyout offer in late 2015 in the low to mid XXX,XXX. Woaaa! I think his blog deserves the bigger offers and not the Wells Fargo bloggers. But it’s just me I guess, the “angry” blogger. Spare me all the BS in this space por favor. Full disclosure: Someone offered me a $25 Amazon gift card and a partial Panera gift card and I said. HELL NO, TBB is not for sale, woohoo!
What else can you say about THIS? It’s not only me! Really dude, really?
These were posted almost at the same time, wow!
And I leave you with this…
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

Good for DoC! He has built an incredible site and a wealth of resources in very little time (annually speaking). Hopefully he one day receives an offer he finds attractive, both in terms of money and direction.

I was shocked to read that. It must have been Bankrate,is there another buyer out there really?
He should spend some money for a blog redesign, I think mine looks better!
I remember when he first came out he was posting all over the place. He’s come a long way, sure taken a much longer route to blog stardom, just hope he has the stamina. When he says yes, Chuck can apply for a job here hahaha

mid 6 figure offer in a dying hobby. Sold. should have been his reply. Gonna end up regretting that one for sure.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think you are right.
It probably came with a “you must stay aboard for X duration” and a big chunk of the $$$ being dependent on conversions.
Going to be really tough to pivot from current no cc affiliates stand. Then again a big chunk of traffic must be coming from bank bonus related searches.
I have no idea what transpired, I am thinking out loud. Tough for me to see how this blog space gets better for bloggers in the years ahead with the banks clamping down and airlines continuing to go rev based in both earning (pretty much done) and burning (getting there).

Also, congrats to you, George, on the 1M!

Thanks. On the question over at Twitter, no I am not in Northern Greece. I was referring to writing the actual trip report….I am so slow I am at the point where I just landed in Thessaloniki, just getting picked by the Hyatt Mercedes….Man, I am so slow…

Love the networking article. Spot on!

What’s the backstory with that Tweet about Rene?
TBBTheDude says
I don’t know. I was going to ask her to find out but decided to move on…

Re electric planes–once we get that long-awaited breakthrough in energy storage electric planes will make more sense. A significant portion of a plane’s weight at take-off is fuel and if you had some sort of solid-state electrical storage (as opposed to the clunky batteries we have now) you could get rid of that.
TBBTheDude says
We are a long long way from that. By that time there may be no more miles to earn or burn!

It seems to me that super rich companies like Apple and Google could make the planet better off if they spent the money that they are spending on self-driving cars on batteries/battery storage improvements………………..before it is too late to reverse global warming

There are some interesting projects in the works. I’m feeling optimistic about energy storage.

Update on phantom SAS business award space on United. Desktop website still not working, but happened to check the space on my iPhone and was able to book and confirm the award on the mobile website. Not sure why that worked when even the agents couldn’t book the award space yesterday, but I guess you have to attack a problem from every angle in this space. #winning
TravelBloggerBuzz says
That SAS airline can be so weird!
Scott says
Renae got offended when she dared to question his value as an “elite”
TravelBloggerBuzz says
He gets offended so easily! Wonder if she was threatened with a lawsuit for using his copyrighted picture, lol.
ABC says
Worse, she was blocked from accessing his twitter account.
harvson3 says
Read her tweet history.
She said something about it being illogical to hold a plane of 200+ for one elite flyer.
Rene took this to mean, “[Flight attendant] hates elites.”
She objected to having her argument mischaracterized, and challenged.
When challenged, Rene blocked her on Twitter and clammed up. BA said nothing when she pinged them. And someone (maybe Rene, maybe not) then made a fake Twitter profile to harass her and support Rene. Which is weird and pathetic:

TravelBloggerBuzz says
Nice catch harvson3.
Wow, just wow. Somehow this dude never fails to make me go Wow, did he really do that?
Smh to oblivion!

Heather said that account is not Rene. I am not going to say what else she said because I am a nice guy. Woohoo!

It could be yet another false indicator…Anyone?
Not sure why your comments go the Pending mode and I must approve them. Maybe it is the FTG connection 🙂

Very comprehensive Oahu list, you would never even scratch the surface. Also, need to know who the really good musicians are and where they are playing. Realize the other islands are somewhat backwaters and Honolulu/Oahu are really the epicenter of things, so there’s much much more diversity of offerings.
Nice networking post, I’ve never attended one of those things but I get it.
Curate on Buzz! But how am I going to pay off my mortgage? I’m on a 15 year, 3% fixed deal, might move over to my mom’s for a while.

Just Do It!

What happened to Brian Kelly’s dog? Was it just some PR bullsh!t?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
You are right, I have seen the dog lately?
Not sure if it was PR getting him but naming him? No doubt!
I think the dog is very ugly. Just being honest. Go ahead, call me angrie 🙂
