I burned 70k United miles for a one way Business Class award to Greece. Same old itinerary. Detroit to Frankfurt on Lufthansa and then with Aegean to Thessaloniki SKG. I could have tried to burn some AA miles but I did not want to stab myself. I found it interesting that in the UA award search engine I was seeing Air Berlin come up, WTF! I almost pulled the trigger flying Austrian Airlines so I can try their famous coffee but the routing was much longer/complicated.
Maybe I get to fly Lufthansa First Class finally on my way back to the US as it will definitely be booked within two weeks of departure, cross fingers.
My wife is going to NYC again to her brother’s. She just goes to the British Airways website and books her ticket flying AA at 15k per RT. One day we will exhaust them, so sad!
I am having some issues with my back. Specifically, two bulging discs in my lower spine. I had a cortisone shot last week per doctor’s orders, developing. I have a question. Since I sit on a chair so much, it is time to invest in a KICK ASS office chair. Any recommendations? Of course, I would like to try before I buy, please take that into account, if possible. Please let me know.

Agreed, I was Gold Medallion for awhile back when that’s who we flew on for work mostly. At the time at least it was a pretty good status to have, I think this was after COdbaUA had started to gut United status. I wouldn’t chase it on my own dime – course I’ve stopped chasing status period unless, again, it naturally occurs through work travel.

United shows Eurowings flights, some of which are operated by 30+ A320 aircraft owned by AB with AB crews under wetlease. No cause for concern.
Don’t sit at your desk, just organise a standing arrangement as an alternative, that way your back gets do something during the day…

The article about cancer is gut wrenching.
It sure is.
Odds are poor with pancreatic cancer. Took the life of two family members. Late detection is the major hurdle to cure.
With that said, cancer immunotherapy is already having a great impact on certain cancer types. Gilead just bought Kite pharma ($11B) for their promising CART technology and PD-1 inhibitors are already working wonders in lung cancer etc.
Cancer of any kind sucks. What I get out of it is how small some life things are. I laugh everytime I read twitter and how wrapped up some people are tweeting 24/7 about every minor infraction they’ve uncovered.
What? You better not include in that being late on that pre-departure drink we so clearly deserve riding up front! Come on man, we need to draw the line somewhere!

Back pain seems like one of the worst chronic pains to have and so hard to get treated right it seems. Wish I had some recommendations but I just hope you find something to feel better!
I have not played a soccer game since late April. And that is what I miss the most.
The thing is I am still active, did 16 miles biking 2 Saturdays ago. I am giving my body a break now, maybe I just pushed it too much lately and caused the bulging discs to act up…

Being sidelined with back trouble is something I absolutely can not stand…It’s weird that I have to deal with this…oh well, need to start walking a bit but it is raining hard out side all day!

Does Dan ever find deals on toilet plungers? Not the cheap red ones that are just half cups. I mean full-strength, black ones with a little neck that sticks out. Those puppies are great for cleaning up a mess.
The other item I am seeking is bear spray. Now I know what you’re thinking-here come the politics. But I’m serious-there are just a lot of bears this year and I hear those sprays really do the job.
