I am back to home sweet home in beautiful Ann Arbor, Michigan! As you know, I traveled to Iran in the past two weeks. And you well know I am a super slow trip report blogger…so I thought maybe I do a short post (while I recover from my trip and go on super catch up mode) and ask you for any questions you may have. I will respond here or maybe I do another post if there are many questions. Fire away!

Just one thing to say about Iran: Do not believe the crap you hear in the West! I ALWAYS felt safe…well, unless I was crossing city streets that is! Oh, did I forget to say that the people are very friendly, especially to Americans?
Sorry for the short post. And thanks to everyone who visited my blog during my absence, hope you did not get bored very much. And thanks to all who clicked on my links, especially to the two CSRs and two Barclaycard Arrival cardholders! And of course to everyone who uses my Amazon link, just crossed into three figures this month #wow #beafraidTPG!
And I leave you with this…

Ok, I guess I’ll go FIRST:
1. How did you resolve the laptop charger issue?
2. What was clearing immigration like (both coming and going)? I know that a large number of your potential group were denied visas. Any insights as to why? Suggestions to secure a visa (other than becoming Greek!)?
3. What was the security presence on the street? Militarized with lots of troops or just police presence or a mixture?
4. What was the mixture of terrorists — er, tourists (we call them touri down here) — you encountered? Lots of Ruskies? Mainly Middle East?
5. Do you want to go back?
Again, welcome home! If nothing else, Panera will see a bump in revenues!

Hi,
Great questions. But since I am on a MAJOR catch up mode ever since I came back, it will be while before I get to them. Actually, I am thinking of pasting them in a draft blog post and attack them sometime next week in a single blog post. Others do weekly summary posts, I do these ๐
One simple one is the first question: Apparently, the laptop charger was fine. It must have been the location in the IST lounge, even though I tried a few different outlets. Now that I think about it….I did not see any laptops in the downstairs area near the pasta station. Actually, I only used the laptop a few times in Iran. With the phone and wifi….these days you can do almost anything.

Thank God you made it back!!! Were there any HOT Iranian chicks there? How are the strip clubs?
Did you ever let anyone know you live in the U.S.?
Speak English of Greek?
How do they feel about Americans? US Politicians?
Can you drink the water?
Do they know about BUSH and WIENER?
Are the people happy, did you see people smile and laughing and enjoying life or were they miserable like Parisians?

Hot Iranian chicks, Ramsey, you took the words right out of my mouth, thank you.

I added the more appropriate questions to the list with the others…
For the inappropriate ones: The odd thing about the country is that all women must cover their hair. And no mini skirts…heck no skin exposed, so sad. But other than that, hell yeah, some were incredibly hot. And many had lots of makeup. And one group member hooked up with a hottie….she picked him at the bazzaar….never happens to me lol. Oh, no strip clubs, come on!
I spoke English.
They know Bush. Not dweeb Wiener…who always resurfaces at the worst possible time!

Frankly, I’m with Greg here ๐

I thought Pointchaser went to volunteer…and she is still cranking blog posts out of it. Looks like a business trip to me!
What a once in a lifetime experience for Greg to hang out with Branson at Necker Island. Oh, when the price goes up, you know who to blame lol.

What kind of DIRT will the Dirty Tricks People over at Team Hillary come out with on Trump before the Election? It has to be a doozy! I’m thinking a sex tape (released by Screech, star of the TV show Saved By The Bell) of Trump in a romp with Dominatrix Male Prostitute Midgets, while he wears a bra and panties………………………………Can I say “romp”? I don’t want to offend anyone.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I don’t know but if she can’t beat Trump…
I am starting to have a feeling that she will lose. I don’t believe polls anymore.
Crackfeed had a great article from the perspective of a pissed off Trump supporter….and, I must admit, I agreed with several arguments. But, dang it, Trump is just unfit…period!

Omg you went to Iran??? ๐
MileageUpdate says
Iran is so safe that I used my Greek Passport. Sounds super safe to me. Anytime you have to say you arent ‘Murican, I say its less safe than you lead on.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I used my Greek passport to save money and a whole lot of time dealing with the here, sending them my passport to place the visa, etc. Why go through that when I can get visa on arrival?
The passport thingie has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with safety. I NEVER felt unsafe. Even in seedy alleys (don’t ask lol). Actually, I was singled out for preferential treatment when I say I am from America. One pastry shop owner singled me out to take a pic and told me anytime I can come in to his shop and get anything I want…free! Similar reactions all over Iran. Just fyi.
MileageUpdate says
oh then nevermind. looked like a cool trip

Though I haven’t been to Iran, I’ve often found that things aren’t quite what we hear about when you actually get to a place…all the more reason to travel and not just read/watch about a place!
How was the food – any particular standouts and/or dishes you didn’t care for?
Did you use public transit/taxi/car?
What would you see and do if you were to go back again?
What surprised you the most once you were there?
italdesign says
How was the food? Any new favorites? Can you get it in A2? I am extremely envious!
