We bring you scary news on how easy it is stealing points, bitch about the new Starbucks Rewards, learn of the 5 top hotels for the wealthy & more!

You can register for the new IHG Rewards Club promo Share Forever Whatever. It’s the usual way of them doing their promos lately. Targeted. You don’t know what you get. Usually too many nights and too few points. And then you have to deal with their horrific customer service and bang your head against the wall. No thanks, pass again! I got 34 nights for 65,000 points. Mrs. TBB got 75,000 for 24 nights. No way, what the hell!
Stealing hotel points and staying on your dime points . Done over the phone. Somebody did it with Loyalty Traveler. Wow. You have been warned!
The death of the Virgin America’s brand and the aftermath of the Alaska Airlines sale. Really good analysis again at Skift.
All about the new Starbucks Rewards. Yeah, some bitching and moaning. But we will still go back. And earn less points. Because, not doing so means we are morons. #maximizeit #everypointcounts lol
You know the new program is bad when the whizzes at Deutsche Bank come out and….downgrade Starbucks stock because of the new rewards program. Or so they say #donotbelieve.
Your personal finance fix: Annuities & Problems of Longevity. Probably one of the best reads on the topic, which can be controversial. Because of the commissions to sell variable and equity index annuities are so darn high. Like the CSP card lol. I also think “advisers” selling the two annuities described above inside IRAs touting the tax advantages should be shot, stabbed, burned and then dropped off a plane to Guantanamo. Or something more extreme. Hey, you laughing? I am not!
The top 5 favorite hotels of the wealthy:
- Number 1: Bellagio in Las Vegas – Really?
- Number 2: The Plaza in New York City. TBB will stay there in a few months. For FREEEEEEE! Wait, let me add, I will eat and drink for FREEEEEEEE!
- Number 3: Mandarin Oriental in London Okay, fine.
- Number 4: Hotel du Cap-Eden-Rock in Antibes, France – Never heard of it!
- Number 5: Raffles in Singapore. I have seen it in person, it looks nice. I could stay there for FREEEE if I wanted to. Just saying.
Another one of these mind blowing stories only TBB can bring to you. Because…did you really want me to tout the Road Assistance benefit of the CSP card for the 3,459th time, come on! Ok, I got sidetracked. This is the strange case of the woman who lives in a perpetual present. Yeah, really. She can’t remember her past and can’t imagine her future. Not a hoax. People like this exist and we are only finding out about them. Amazing!
Heartbreaking Reddit AMA thread by a Holocaust survivor. How he survived multiple concentration camps and death marches. And you bitch about how you did not get your pre-departure drink, really?
Bloggers can do some ridiculous things to sell their brand credit cards. But this one takes the cake, wow! Especially after the Emirates award with Alaska Airlines was demolished. You can be angry, it’s totally normal.
15 stunning pictures of loos with beautiful views. Because it’s about the views!

You are golden! Like the old Starbucks rewards program!

Some of you wait years for the World Cup. Some wait months for cricket tournaments (threw that in to keep Raffles interested). Some wait months for CX F space to open. Some never go on a BRT even when seats are open.
This GringoLoco waits all danged year for the Stanley Cup Playoffs to begin. Finally some real hockey.
Silver, maybe

Silver it is! At 9.45 am, wow!

There are some gorgeous locations to go to the bathroom, wow! I think I want to visit all 15 of these, a much better tale to tell than all countries and territories. 🙂
The story about severely deficient autobiographical memory is absolutely fascinating. What a great find, thank you for sharing that one. Mild blowing! no pun intended.
Thank you again for posting, I am enjoying your blog. I do notice there are just less information (not only here, but elsewhere) about our hobby of miles/points, or I should say anything new and newsworthy. I am wondering if a lot of it just no longer exists or maybe the bloggers are not getting enough leads from FlyerTalk for the current big things that are happening…
Cheers,
PedroNY

“Mild blowing” – LOL, thanks for that!
I think it is a combination. Hobby is just not as exciting anymore as the low hanging fruit avenues to amass miles/points have been shut down, lot of deals/methods are going underground, more programs are going revenue based (just notice how even Starbucks just joined this train) and so many consolidations are taking hold reducing the potential news out there…I mean, when you get a Virgin America joining SPG transfer partners as major news you know this field is just getting over satruated (notice how both of these brands are like dead men walking!).
I had never struggled finding worthy eclectic stuff to post here….but I am now!
Yeah, that story about that lady still swirls around my brain. I mean, she takes the “live for the present” all the way! Fascinating…the brain!

I need to see if the leopard get him!!!

Not only the shower pic is creepy as hell, someone had to be there with him to take it…

Pt and Andy:
I scratched my head how they did this multiple times…

Great blogging today, got really absorbed with the lady with no memory.
PNY I’m new to this, but thinking that the blogs are all going down due to the tightening of so many programs and games.
BTW I looked up flights yesterday morning for that NZ deal, even after people were saying it was dead and found availability. But already overbooked for travel this year considering I’m not retired, and have to think a bit about 14+ hours straight in economy. What a deal though.
