We bring you ways to stop Marriott Rewards points expiration, while at it SPG points as well, an ideal site how to call BS (we approve!), learn about US cities, look at signs all over Tehran, bitch about bloggers in a constructive manner if they deserve it, learn about the best card for everyday spending, visit amazing Uzbekistan and a prison museum.
TBB Blog Mission: To Entertain. Educate. Inspire. In That Order!
You can support TBB by applying for CREDIT CARDS, shopping with our AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK & clicking our REFERRAL LINKS. Thank you!
These two posts may come in handy for you: When do Marriott Rewards points expire and how to stop it. And since we are at it, lets get this one out there too: When your Starwood Preferred Guest points expire, and how to stop it. After SPG dies…there will be a void out there, sad!
This is a good comprehensive post laying out all the pros for each card: What is the Best Credit Card for Every Day Spending? Of course, there is none, it all depends on the individual…And, of course, if you know what you are doing and can handle it…please come back here and get a card with my links, thank you! As a reminder, if you are carrying credit card balances or asking what is the interest rate on a card, this hobby is NOT for you, get your house in order FIRST!
Maybe I should help teach this college course titled “Calling Bullshit“. LOVE IT!
…we feel that the world has become over-saturated with bullshit and we’re sick of it. However modest, this course is our attempt to fight back.
We have a civic motivation as well. It’s not a matter of left- or right-wing ideology; both sides of the aisle have proven themselves facile at creating and spreading bullshit. Rather (and at the risk of grandiose language) adequate bullshit detection strikes us as essential to the survival of liberal democracy. Democracy has always relied on a critically-thinking electorate, but never has this been more important than in the current age of false news and international interference in the electoral process via propaganda disseminated over social media.
Bullshit is language, statistical figures, data graphics, and other forms of presentation intended to persuade by impressing and overwhelming a reader or listener, with a blatant disregard for truth and logical coherence.
We are being drowned by bullshit out there! Charlatan bloggers without any meaningful experience in this unique miles and points hobby discover the money that can be earned selling credit cards and suddenly start blogging bullshit how they can travel for free (bullshit!) to help “family and friends”….If I had a nickel for…Never mind. RESIST BULLSHIT!
What are the largest cities by US population? Interesting list. But the eye catching stat was this one imho. The cities with 100,000 population but have since gone below that number and the % loss, wow!
Canton, Ohio (-39%)
Gary, Indiana (-59%)
Scranton, Penn (-46%)
Flint, Michigan (-50%)
Erie, Penn (-29%)
Utica, NY (-40%)
I had no idea that there was a prison museum in my back yard. What a unique experience this is! Too bad no photos are allowed though, can you imagine the selfies in a jail cell? Michigan’s Prison Museum.
This Instagram account has photos of signs in…Tehran, Iran. Pretty cool stuff!
Amazing Uzbekistan. Wow, what amazing photos here!

I celebrated Father’s Day in the Texas de Brazil restaurant in Detroit with lamb, baaaaa. Right after that I entered lamb coma…
I love comments like this, thank you Chris.
Thanks to blog resident troll who keeps trolling and looking like a psycho ass! Snowflake is the new insult word. So bigly!
These blogs exist to sell credit cards. To readers who don’t know much better. 24/7 365. Is it criticism from a blog that, you know, is an industry blog critic when you state facts? ๐
Clicks have gone silent. But I hit the card sales quote a week ago so it is okay. Oh shoot, that reminds me I need to finish that minimum spend for my own Amex Business Blue Plus card too. I pull it out for non bonus spend almost every time now, I need to kill a few more cards to lower the mental bandwidth it takes to carry them. Need to focus, focus, focus and keep letting go of marginal use/benefit cards. Next one up that Amex Blue Cash card, those old bang days with it are not coming back, sad!
And I leave you with this…When you sneak in a CSP link in a post totally unrelated to your main point…because…$ sales commissions, looking at you Titans!

The word of the day is “Archipelago”.
You may not be familiar with it as a non-native english speaker.
It comes from the greek words “arkhi”, meaning chief and “pelagos”, meaning sea.
You’re welcome in advance.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Correct…
Another English word with Greek roots ๐
Ryan says
Shhhh…the Titans don’t want folks to know about any Islamist threat in the Maldives – what else could they sell as THE “aspirational travel” destination with their CC links!

Today is so boring out there I am about to…yawn ๐

George just got back from Fairmont Lake Louise Lakeview room upgrade four nights freeeee! It was nicer than your twitter picture. Snow one day 68 the next. Loved it
Then cancelled the card. NO main business spend for me. Its a loser card.

This trip report inspired many more than the comments your FTG posts gathered the last several years:
http://travelbloggerbuzz.com/travel-reports/canadian-rockies-banff-jasper-national-parks-2013/
I never recommended to put spend on this card. I am a Lifetime Platinum so things were “a little” different than non Plats.
Will be staying at the San Francisco and Berkeley properties soon and eating/drinking for freeeeeee!
I hope another free night posts by then, the last one from Chase, sad!
Ingy says
It’s amazing with as high regard as you have for yourself and your blog, you don’t make jack shit off it!!!!!

You only got a room upgrade? I bet my suite upgrade was a tad nicer than yours then…

Emails I have deleted today:
-Request to partner with a water park in Cyprus WTF!
-Persistent dude wanting to do a sponsored blog post with a topic “relevant” to my readers.
-AMEX OPEN PR guy to get me to work with an Amex person about “workplace culture”. Seriously?
-Another request for a sponsored post offering me “value proposition” for my readers. I just need to inform him of the price I charge for sponsored posts, smh.
– A ghost writer doing travel articles pitching freelance work to me.
-That other blogger emailed me again to pitch his blog post about the “Best travel credit cards for 2017”. When I checked it out last time, it was same cards as my banner links…of course, no best offers and no non paying $$ cards made the list. I think he has no clue who he is emailing.
I DELETED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE EMAILS.
I don’t make much money here. But I like it that way as I have no integrity apparently LOL!
DML says
A water park in Cyprus! Huh. That seems aspirational.
If you’d take Ingy’s path you might have a series on “What are the best credit
cards when water parking in Cyrus?” With red arrows.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah, I couldn’t believe it, in Cyprus of all places!
Since I have no integrity I would assign to ghost writer to do one encouraging readers to apply for six such cards on the same day! With yellow arrows while pumping my Vets charity ๐
