TBB endorses the Flight Deal
After two years of saving their readers loads of money they are starting to monetize the site. In a fully disclosed transparent way. As long as they can keep on doing what they are doing best (coming up with great fares)…I want them to do well! Please read about the changes here:
Site update and what does it mean going forward
I get their alerts in my smart phone. I have alerted many friends about some fares. If it was not for my location (Detroit) I would have taken advantage of some of the fares they find. No, I am not moving, I like it here ๐
TBB applauds talented people who work hard at what they do and are not overly pushy in constantly pumping stuff to line their own pockets. Guys (clearly, how many of you are there?), you have earned the trust of your readers and created a loyal following. Consider me a fan.
Don’t screw it up like those other guys
(AirfareWatchdog fuel dumps)
I will make an effort to use your links going forward.
You Rock!
TBB
P.S. Note to other bloggers: Take notes.

The problem with hotel affiliate links is that the same companies are presumably on TopCashBack paying cashback. So you are, actually, doing readers a disservice by not pointing them to Fat Wallet etc.
That’s why the only links I have in my sidebar are companies not on cashback sites in the UK – Amazon, ebay, TopCashBack, IHG. I also have Hilton and Booking.com but will be taking those down as they have appeared on cashback sites recently – they were not there when I set them up.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Good point.
The desire to help a good website/service/product to continue enhancing lives should be considered by my readers to be ahead of their own gain of a few dollars or so.
By the way, I have had horrible experience with TopCashBack, I would never ever recommend these guys. I understand the UK TCB site works much better.
Thanks.

2 posts today by TPG
Neither post the AMEX Platinum card
Guess how many of those 2 posts had links to the Amex Platinum card in it?
He managed to plug the card when talking about infant lap seats. I kid you not

Tuesday posts are queued up. Monday posts are already in the TBB blog post draft. Doing the Buzz posts over two days will make them quite long. Monday was already full. Still liked the Jason Steele post about the families. TBB is fair ๐

“Hat tip Ben (via Gary (via Dans Deals))”
Because we needed another blog covering MasterCard savings!
And the best part is revealed in the first two comments to the post
“MSPDeltaDude said,
You linked all the credit card offers, but is there a link to the program itself?
PhatMiles said,
Good post and good information as well. It would have been much nicer if youโve included at least one link to the saving program along with the Ink Referral links. Come on PMM.”
Words fail.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
THIS is the crap that makes TBB angry! TEN (not 1, 2 or 3) Chase Ink links and the dude forgets to include the MC registration link. Unbelievable. I did have a piece of my mind on this MasterCard savings program in the Blog post for Monday. I am trying to do Buzz posts covering two days now…give me some breather. Sacrificing a bit of current coverage….will see how it goes.

PMM is one of the worst.. does BA have any quality control? I’ve removed so many blogs from my feed recently.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
As I was munching on the samples in my local Whole Foods store…I thought about the PMM post some more and got, well, kind of angry. For those who know me well it is highly unusual. But WTF was that? How can a blogger do this and justify it? It has entered my “Top Blogs to Avoid”. It is joining three entrenched there. I need to expand it to make it, say Top 10 ๐

Niches not yet covered: Miles for pets (cats/dogs)
Miles for solo gays and/or gay couples
Miles for “alternative lifestyles” folks (trip reports from Hedonism resorts) ๐
Miles for handicapped travelers
Miles for airline or hotel specific (think Delta Points or Priority Club Insider)
No generalist blogs and deals blog…Pleeeeeeeease
Investigative reporting in the behind the scenes blog space. Stuff kokonutz mentioned ๐
Ahh, screw it. Do what freeloader said. Go AMEX all out. Or Chase all out. Or Barclays all out. Or, heaven forbid, Discover all out Mega LOL

Hey, my wife has only one leg! Maybe there is a niche for me after all. 14 CC links in a post covering how to tell TSA that yes, her leg is aluminum, titanium and carbon fiber, and not likely to explode.

1) How much of a kickback did you get for the endorsement?
2) Where is the full transparency?
3) And when will you let the readers know about the 7% card?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
1) Still working out the details about the banner ad I sold to them ๐
2) The question applies to da Internet lol
3) TBB does not reveal secrets he has sworn to keep…private. TBB does not kill deals lol.

TPG Secret Formula:
Recycle other bloggers’ content
Several days later
Without attribution
Add credit card links
I wonder, where did TPG learn about this deal?
http://thepointsguy.com/2013/09/discounted-awards-on-virgin-atlantic-25000-miles-roundtrip-to-london
Head for Points was the first on it. VFTW hat tipped when writing about it. TPG writes as though no one had covered it days earlier. And he’s the only one that used it as an opportunity to shill credit cards. I’m the one that keeps reading though, and I know better.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I keep reading because I review blogs. Sometimes I wonder wtf I was thinking looking for a niche lol
