The content below is intended to be satire only. If you don’t like it because you are the subject of the satire you do not have to read it and you are equally welcome to satirize TBB. Actually, we encourage you to do it so you can make us laugh even more. We don’t think we are God’s gift to humanity as some of you bloggers surely think you are. New readers and readers not well versed in the miles points blogs are highly encouraged to skip this post because you will not understand the inside jokes!

I controlled myself being positive and all that jazz for the whole week. Frankly, I was getting a little bored and not as entertained but I managed to make it through the week, thanks for asking. Unfortunately, the pumping barrage continues unabated which confirms the very sad state of affairs of what my hobby has become. An arena pumping away their readers relentlessly. As you all know I have a strong anti bias in inyoface selling tactics. So, it is time to atone for all the weekly assaults.
This is what I am talking about…I had to delete many by the way but this is the cream creme de la crap for the week (click to enlarge please):
Let’s start, shall we?
“Want to make a living blogging? Here is what is needed in the space.” – Flyertalk Incredibly, Delta Points, being modest and all ( starts post with “Since I have two blogs that are thriving…”), feels qualified enough to tell us all how to make a living blogging. Even more incredibly, the advice does not even mention credit card affiliate links at all! Apparently, a “good TBB blogger” could have been HUGE. At this point, I am done shaking my head because it may separate from my body. I better stop here…because it is way too early to lose my temper!
Avoid Checked Bag Fees With These Cards! – Million Mile Secrets The only innovation in this space is done by bloggers who keep inventing new ways to pump the same cards to their readers to oblivion. I am waiting for the post “Avoid being charged more than $1 dollar per dollar charged with these cards”.
Which Credit Cards Let You Get the Sign-Up Bonus Again? – Million Mile NonSecrets Amazingly…a post about churning without mentioning the word…churning! Imagine that!
Limited Time 50,000 US Airways Bonus From Premier World MasterCard – Points, Miles & Martinis Why bother with trying to come up with some original sentences when you can just paste what the banks give you to get paid?
Limited Time! US Airways Credit Card Offering 50,000 Miles – The Miles Professor It’s…alive! Pump it!
Top 5 Credit Cards For Travel Rewards ✦ December 2014 – The Reward Boss Why limit it only to one when you can pump 5. Titans pump more than ten at a time! You may be boss but you ain’t no Titan!
Do You Lose Your Points When You Cancel A Credit Card? – One Mile at a Time A reader question. Sure! Or just another lame excuse to pump readers again with another seven cards?
Four Ways To Earn Delta MQMs To Earn Status – Points, Miles & Links Time to sell Amex cards. Sell, sell, sell!
Reader Request: Get My Family of 5 to Australia on Points and Miles! – Frugal Travel Guy Why just do a ticket or two to Las Vegas when you can sell cards trying to get a family of 5 to Australia! Trying to hit a Christmas bonus over there at FTG?
Credit Card Annual Fees: When Does Paying Make Sense? – The Points Guy Actually we could care less if you pay an annual fee or not as long as you buy the cards from us!
My Personal Favorite Credit Cards for December – Deals We Like Credit Cards We Like should be a better blog name. No, wait. Credit Cards and Referral Links, We Like Money is even better!
Put A Value on Your Freedom: $200 Limited Time Offer – Frugal Credit Guy Signed by FTG Staff. Which occurs when it is a cut and paste pump job. Happens a lot here.
Amex EveryDay Vs. Chase Freedom—Which Is Better? – One Credit Card at a Time Actually we don’t give a warm nut which one is better. Just a few years ago I had no credit cards at all and now I have become a world renown credit card expert unbelieavably earning a mega living selling plastic! I wish my dad would buy cards from me!
Last Chance for Double Sign-Up Bonus on Chase Freedom – Million Mile Cards I think I read a staple in selling is to create urgency. “Last Chance” OMG, sounds so desperate. If you don’t get it now you must be a fool. Listen…Don’t fall for this crap! There will be another chance!
Maximizing Points: Credit Cards with Annual Point Bonuses – Frugal Plastic Guy Hey, whatever pays the bills I guess.
No Annual Fee Rewards Card Bonus Dropping in 5 Days – Mommy Points Hey, let me tell you a secret Mommy. “5 days” is nowhere as urgent as “Last chance”! Oh wait…unless…you plan to pull off the classic countdown barrage…oh oh!
Priceline bidding – How to bid without your card getting charged! – Mighty Travels When you are referring to “a trick” learned at The Miles Professor…Hey, anything that can get us back on CNN we ‘ll do!
Noob Q&A: Are the American Express Platinum Cards Worth it? – Noob Traveler Answer: No…Just kidding you guys. A sad paste job with the same selling points we have seen numerous times before. The originality is breath taking!
How To Maximize 5% Cash Back Categories On Chase Freedom – Points, & Credit Card Links w/out Martinis I am not sure if you all noticed but there is a sale going on for the Chase Freedom card. And trying to make it look like super amazing is hilarious…or hideous if you prefer.
I am on the Frugal Travel Guy mailing list for purely TBB journalistic purposes. So I get this email with title “Grow Your Piles of Miles“. Naturally, you know me, I am interested but considering the source I am prepared to have my eyes gouged in a horrific way. So, here is the email:
Howdy folks,
With 2014 drawing to an end, it’s a time to look forward to a fresh start – like a new haul of credit cards to gather and a slew of points to gain.
This month, original FrugalTravelGuy Rick writes about his new applications and his latest spoils. With a net worth of over 2.5 million points acquired, we love tapping his brain to find out what tricks and tips he’s been digging up (including the limited time US Airways Premier World MasterCard bonus – sign up now and get 50,000 bonus miles after $3,000 minimum spend requirements). What a great way to start a new year!
Happy Savings!
FrugalTravelGuy
We are going to miss this deep insight offered here as it appears the original Frugal Travel Guy’s tenure in this site is ending at the end of the year. Let’s see how they re brand it now…
I leave the “best” for last. Posts at Points, Miles & Martinis make me shake my head all the time. But this one took the cake:
Snakes On A Plane – Hate It But Can’t Not Watch It
Just six short sentences along with a bad pic of a stupid movie. The last two sentences were: “Do you have a fear of snakes but still can’t stop yourself from watching snakes on a plane? Bonus points if you are watching it right now.” I see you shaking your head too. I am NOT making this stuff up!
Dear readers, make no mistake. I wanted to be HUGE but by doing this I shoot myself in the foot as it appears I will never be approved for the lucrative direct affiliate links. Actually, I am waiting to be canned for my not lucrative (in comparison) links so then I can turn this baby to a once a week SNL satire post so I can continue to be huge in other areas of my life lol. Actually I can’t believe I am still here you guys. I so much preferred my hobby not invaded by master salesmen and this is the way to entertain myself and you. Educating and inspiring is part of the mission too…just not today 🙂

At the gym today I was scared but finally weighed myself. Only to shockingly find I did not gain a single pound…dang it, I should have eaten more!

Deux! (ou trois if I’m late LOL)
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I added the n’s no problem.
You are indeed second. Saturday night. Slow 🙂
William Charles says
Andrew, I know you don’t like me but please add the extra N into the URL section of your comments. At the moment you’re linking to http://leticulartravel.com/ and it’s driving my OCD crazy. Third, TPG linked to the 100k business platinum offer so I can’t complain too much.
MMS copy paste job was interesting, I’m surprised they allowed him to post that.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
TPG did, wow…See Titan in your future 🙂
It’s all about sales…The more you have the more you get away with.
William Charles says
FTG I meant to say, these acronyms get confusing.

LOL my blogging skills exposed!
btw how can I compete in the blogging world with the amazing Delta Points! This guy is my hero.
All the others too, just pure gold.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
You could have been HUGE too man 🙂

Buzz-
If they’re calling Rick the ‘original’ FTG, does that mean there is another one? Or maybe several more?
Maybe the non-compete is running out and the big guy will start a new blog. If so, you should have a contest to name it.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think he will start a new blog, the money is just too good pumping non stop.
Erik says
Maybe FTG Reloaded (with affiliate links, of course!)

“including the limited time US Airways Premier World MasterCard bonus – sign up now and get 50,000 bonus miles after $3,000 minimum spend requirements”
WTF?! The US Airways card doesn’t have a spend requirement.. FTG doesn’t know Avios or even Dividend Miles it seems. What a joke.
I don’t mind pumping if the content is accurate, there’s an attempt to use the best offers, and financial relationships are disclosed. That’s why I don’t agree with the TBB Avoid list. There are really two different categories of blogs included there — the true pieces of garbage that offer zero value added and blogs that are actually worth reading (though any blog won’t be to everyone’s taste) if you just skip over the monthly ‘best’ lists and the countdown posts.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Are the ones in the TBB Avoid list “worth reading” that other blogs in the other two lists don’t cover? Doubt it.
I have a problem with the pumping frequency…is keeping be from becoming HUGE 🙂

FTG is the expert in Piles ? In Growing Piles? (oh, “piles of miles”, I almost missed that!)?
Anyway, I thought we had the source of his constant irritation!
